Crash one is the most platformy of all three. Two and three is when they started adding all the gimmicky shit like sliding and ground pounds.

It'll take you a day or 2 tops if you're not planning on getting all the gems. It's a great plat former, it does everything a plat former should do.

There's just not enough puzzles. I actually beat Crash 2 for the first time recently and was expecting crazy intense puzzles involving the "!" boxes and dynamite and nitro and doing things in a certain order but nope, nothing of the sort. It got close to that but not close enough.

Mario 64 is infinitely better.

they're terrible 3D platformers, shittier than spyro, mario, banjo, conquer, DK, etc.

they're decent 2.5D platformers though

The sliding is used for the platforming. 2 is 100% a platform game. 3 is when they started the gimmicky levels.
