RE5 was mediocre and Revelations 2 was pretty bad.
Revelations 1 was....ok. I used to think it was pretty great, but I eventually realized a lot of my fondness for it was because I thought it was pretty impressive for a handheld game. That and I was desperate for anything that seemed like RE even somewhat returning to its roots lol.

I'll take games like RE7 over RE5, 6, and Rev every day of the week.

That's nice. I always thought it was a real slap in the face that Rev 2 wasn't on a Nintendo system considering Rev 1 was a 3DS game.
Come to think of it, I still haven't played Rev 2, and I was really excited that Barry was one of the main characters. I'll have to pick this up when it comes out.

I want more Revelations games. Capcom is the only company that did the episodic format right, releasing everything on schedule, every week.

What I would like the most is a "RE classic collection" for Steam/PS4/XBONE though.

Can the Joycon controllers aim like the Wii Remote? Playing RE4 on Wii was amazing with those controls so it be nice if the Joycons can do the same for both Revelations.

Capcom asked Nintendo to beef up the Switch just so the RE7 engine would run on the console, so i'd expect a GOTY port of 7 the same time it releases on other consoles.

You may even see the Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles double pack at some point down the line. (With split joy con co-op out of the box, something that RE5 could also enjoy.)

The only ones you may not see are 2, 3 and CV:X. Mainly because there's no HD versions of them (aside from CV:X, but that was released as a PS2 Classic.)

Look at it this way, Ultra Street Fighter 2 brought MT Framework to Switch. Any game that ran on MT Framework should very easily port to Switch. The sky is the limit for Capcom ports.

Kind of.
It doesn't have a proper IR/Sensor Bar set-up like the Wii (although it does have an IR thing on the bottom of the Joy-Con for some reason) but it can do something similar using Gyro.
When it starts needing a motion input, it reads the Gyro's current position as 0 and extrapolates the on-screen cursor by how far away you tilt from that position. Most games also have a specific button that will reset that 0 position as whatever you have the controller tilted at now.
In practice, it works pretty well. You just need to re-calibrate in-game by pressing a button a fair bit due to your hand not being able to perfectly return to the default position all the time.
Other than the re-calibration, playing with gyro and the Joy-Con split apart is as smooth and comfortable as playing the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii. Hell, it's a little bit more comfortable because you don't have to keep aiming at the TV and can rest your arm in a better position.
Playing Splatoon 2 with Split Joy-Con and the Gyro set at maximum is accurate and comfortable as hell.

I recently replayed Revelations, they were shortcuts. Most of the touchscreen actions were mapped to the d-pad though... So the game might need like a shift button or something to compensate.
