Work your way from there to eventually creating your own blends to suit your tastes.

You can also remove bitterness by adding very very tiny amounts of salt, we're talking so little you shouldn't even taste it. This is because salt counteracts bitterness but your tastebuds are more sensitive to bitterness so you can remove the bitterness without adding any salty flavour this way.

Essentially Robusta is a sturdier crop, it less likely to get hit by disease and pests. In exchange Robusta Coffee Beans are bitter. Cheap Coffees do a blend of both.

You see most midrange coffee beans advertise 100% Arabica for that reason. With that said there are some high end coffees that do use apparently a better version of Robusta because it might help balance the coffee, I don't know because I just stick with Costco's Coffee along with Trader Joe's.

In terms of coffee I keep it relatively simple, Tea Kettle, French Press, and a Coffee Grinder. Yes I paid a couple hundred for the Grinder but it keeps the beans Fresher for longer.

YES I've had 7 dollar bottles of Wines that I've absolutely loved. And $200 bottles that I could even finish a glass of. Wine is very subjective and price alone is not a determing factor of whether the drinker will find it to be a good wine.

But a true Wine Expert can BLINDLY taste a wine and tell you what it is. I've met Somms it's an amazing talent probably something few people can have. You have to have a very fine pallette and an excellent memory.

At the end of the day though it really doesn't matter. Just buy the varietal you think is tasty, I'm a Merlot drinker myself. The more expensive the wine is it's more likely than not because it comes from a certain legendary Winery. But if you don't like a French wine the $1000 bottle probably won't change your opinion. At that price Wine is a fucking status symbol, same for high end booze.

its a bitch to setup and its just a glorified water boiler. it does look cool though but it's not on the "its useful enough for me to use enough" and also "cool"

just get a press or look up types of coffee makers. like chemex or french press (I use this, totally fine and totally easy).

it cost like 40 I think, I also recommend getting a water boiler. and a hand Burr (never grind). Also make sure you never buy ground coffee always beans for fresh coffee. Also keep the beans fresh as possible (like an airtight container).

Mess around with some simple equipment first, learn the temperatures and grinds and then move on to fancy stuff that you'll use once in a while.

I bought an espresso machine for $60 at World Market when I was first starting out. I didn't know how to clean it right though so the steamer got all cruddy and the coffee took forever to make. If I took care of it it'd last for a lot longer I'm sure. Now I have that Ninja coffee bar cause I fell for all the bells and whistles and was too cheap to get a real good machine. It works pretty well though. Seems like the real key to getting the full flavor is how fine you grind the beans.
