I pirated this game and managed to be disappointed. I seriously want my time back I spent downloading, installing, then nearly immediately uninstalling that trash.

I have played significantly 'worse' games much longer because they at least had something appealing or interesting about them. This game has nothing. It's not even vanilla boring. It is sugar-free, fat free, non-dairy yogurt speckled with shit.

Maybe the problem was playing on hard with runner vision off, I just found myself getting really frustrated at times. And some parts have arbitrary movement rules; for example, in the mall where you find that first machine gun cop, there's a box you're supposed to running jump onto to climb up and get through to the atrium. I'd gone into that room, looked around, and tried jumping normally to get up, and it wouldn't let me, despite it being low enough that I normally could climb something that low. So I spent ages running around the level until I looked up a guide and felt fucking stupid.

Andromeda wasn't made by Bioware. They were made by a different studio that had the name Bioware slapped on them. This was essentially their first solo project.

Also, the game had to many deus ex machinas. My favorite mission in Andromeda was the first one because it really drove home how dangerous and chaotic an expedition can get only for everything to get fixed by ancient technology.

Having replayed recently DA2 after having played through inquisition makes inquisition like the worst DA in the series.

This is the only game I remember feeling actual regret for the time I spent on it. It is the also the only game I bothered to sell.

It's basically a single player MMO, in terms of both the combat system and how repetitive and grindy the game is.

Story is pretty bland too. It's not a mess like other recent Bioware games, as in the story is well structured and told, but it's just so cliche and boring. It feels like the DnD campaign of a guy who's a competent DM, but has 0 creativity who just pulls scenarios out of the source book.

It's only saving grace is that the party members are (mostly) well written. But even then shitters like Cole and Sera exist.

Yeah, the game really screws you over if you haven't got runner vision on. This is especially true in Catalyst as you're given the freedom to go whichever way you want until you need to reach a specific area that only has one route that you can take (often involving jumping off one particular platform). If you like the free running aspects you could have fun with Catalyst as it's improved in some ways. Beware, combat is shoehorned in but can be quite quick if you use momentum for extra damage
