I highly recommend Bioforge. Why /v/ never talks about it is beyond me. Although I should warn you, the game ends with a cliffhangar that continues on the sequel, but it was never made. The only thing that was released is the intro and an arena minigame.

Bloodbornes story is quite good if you bother to delve into it, it actually has more meat to the story that other dark souls games.

I dunno about best but here's a list of things that have cosmic nasties as a main thing and not just there because.

Darkest Dungeon
Bloodborne
Anything Call of Cthulu related, Dark Corners of the earth is pretty ok.
Secret World, the Legends remake F2P thing came out yesterday, don't know how much it fixes.
All souls games to an extent but Bloodborne has it at the forefront.
Dead space, especially in 3, but this is really stretching it since it takes a backseat to the gore in 1 and 2.
Eternal Darkness, rev up that emulator.
Evil Within gets a honorary mention since it has the whole going insane maybe thing that Cosmis horror has a fair bit of.

What actually happens to Lovecraft's protagonists is that they go mad from the knowledge that there are these vast, alien powers in the cosmos which don't even register that humanity exists. The essence of Lovecraftian horror is cosmic indifference, the idea that the universe is an alien and cold place, and humanity's place therein is completely helpless against the forces which inhabit it.

Yes. Cosmic horror was born from Lovecraft's feelings of insignificance compared to the universe around him. He just gave those feelings a slightly more defined shape in his stories.
