The adventure games were vastly different from one another, but still kept the idea of using precise platforming and careful timing to gain speed.
However, boost takes platforming out of the equation as the y axis becomes limited, almost to the point of the game being 2.5d even in 3d sections.

It's absolutely true in that I should have done more research, but if I remember correctly it was on sale on the Xbox store for a few £ and one of my friends has always gone on about how much he loves the game, so the impulse by wasn't completely unwarranted.
As for the other stages, they are absolutely not fine. Even the Sonic stages aren't that great because his jumping and homing attacks feel imprecise (same goes for Shadow).
