September seems to close for Volta when every other source says h1 2018. Not like Nvidia is in any rush with the 1080ti dominating the high end market and a $50 price cut on the 1070/1080 will make Vega pointless.

and I doubt there will be six vega cards and then the polaris cards, its too many cards in the lineup and will be a waste to have a card at every $50 jump up.

Volta would be the obvious choice for consumers. Volta has much better pricing, much better performance, lower wattage, etc. It would effectively kill AMD's GPU division as AMD would be forced to sell their cards way under the price it takes to manufacture them.

I understand this RX Vega is very late.

But i'll be buying RX VEGA. I stand by AMD approach to PC gaming and Open Source and for that reason I will take the gamble that RX Vega will get better the more gaming start using the GPU. If I can get the same amount of time I have had with my R9 290 Gaming at 1440p I be very happy. Still to this day I shocked how well it performs in recent titles

Couple things I have been catching up on is RX VEGA feature set will benefit most from devs wanting to use the GPU more effectively - Rapid Packed Math FP16 and HBCC could very well be RX Vega hidden performance.

What happened with Pascal is we had two price points, lets say the 1070.

1070 AIB $379 RRP

AMD cards will be completely out of stock everywhere, nvidia will have no competition and thus no reason to lower the prices of their cards. If anything, they'll continue to increase.

Vega 56 wont be 30% slower than Vega 64/1080, which is what the 1070 is. Going by the specs it'll be 10-15% slower than the 64.

That would also put it on par with the Fury and make it a pointless card. There is a massive gap between the 1070 and 1080, AMD are going to capitalise on that.
