It's the player's skill level, I'm not super sure how it works but you can kinda gauge how good someone is by the color. It goes blue>green>some stuff>pink>orange I think? Not super sure.

You're probably referring to faultless defense. You block (hold back) and hold 2 buttons. It will increase pushback on your opponent's attacks, prevent RISC buildup, and prevent chip damage, but spends meter and increases blockstun slightly. It's also the only way you can block grounded attacks when you're in the air.

You should really check out the in-game tutorial, it does a great job of covering all the universal tools and systems.

His specials are also easy to get down since they are just quarter circles for the most part.When you combo try into a hard knock down, input task a or a' to keep up pressure from a distance. Also try to end combos with either task b or c to get deja vu seals to also increase pressure. Be wary of rushdown characters since they'll be able to interrupt you and lock you down since bedman doesn't have much to answer back against pressure. Look up gameplay of GCYoshi, Ashihana, Sabamiso, and Maruken to get a glimpse of what he is like in higher level play. Though be mindful that some of the videos are Rev1, not Rev2.

Raven's combos are braindead easy, I main him because I've loved his character since Overture, but he seriously needs to be toned down. His basic combos should only be available if you have high excitement.

In Revelator, Jack-O' tells her that sometimes when "information" from our world is strong enough, for example: humanity's collective desire to survive when facing 200 years of the threat of extinction, it can end up in the Backyard.

When the Backyard received this information, it interpreted it as an error and dispelled the error out of the Backyard as a life form. This life form was I-No.

Now this also means that her anomaly is guaranteed as incurable because she cannot exist in any timeline or reality where this didn't happen. Apparently Asuka knew this but had some kind of ulterior motive for I-No. Jack-O' told her because she didn't know that I-No wasn't supposed to know yet. While this means that I-No has ultimate power as a literal Time Goddess, it also means that she is definitive trapped in the same loop no matter what. Axl's anomaly was that he was split between two possible timelines and Raven's is presumed to be because he technically doesn't exist. I-No's existence it irreversibly tethered to her endless loops through time, and where we left her off in Rev2's episode mode, is that she's about to go on a despair fueled rampage because she doesn't know what else to do at this point.

Before you move onto hit confirming from a stray hit, you must have that combo committed to muscle memory already. There's not enough brain power for you to recognize that you got the hit you needed and for you to consciously remember the combo at the same time.

There's not much the game doesn't already tell you specifically yet, but I can give a basic gist of each.

In Leo's case, he's one of three kings of Illyria. Illyria itself is several united kingdoms between France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and I think Russia, but I'm not sure on that one. Basically two of the Illyrian Kings (Leo and Daryl) hold equal power, while the High King (Ky) has veto power over either of the other two. The two kings with lesser power can veto the High King's decisions if they both put their titles to a vote against his. All three answer to the Pope or Sanctus Maximus. The Vatican in GG is a quasi religious military and political power, rather than just a religious institution.

As for Answer, he was saved by Chipp in a similar way Chipp was saved. Answer used to be a hit man for his local Mafia in what was South Africa (AKA now the spot of the Eastern Chipp Kingdom). Chipp is a man that functions entirely on instinct. Answer is the exact opposite, by being analytical, logical, and he has a perfect memory. He literally can't forget anything once he hears, sees, or otherwise experiences it once. Because of this, he suffered extreme guilt over his days as a murderer/extortionist for hire.

Sharon. ABA can't bleed out because she's a homunculus, meaning she generates blood faster than she could ever possibly bleed. On top of being near indestructible. In AC+ ABA took on one of Slayer's attacks at near full power and survived, albeit after losing consciousness for days. Basically her durability outlasts her stamina, which is on par with a normal human. Sharon on the other hand, is literally immortal in every sense of the word. No reason has ever been given as to why. She's not from Slayer's dimension, so my best guess is that she might be like Raven.

Sol's current weapon, which he calls, Junkyard Dog Mk II, is a frame that combines the Fireseal and the Flash Fang as one weapon. The Flash Fang is in the intricate inner parts of the Fireseal and the outward frame holds it all together. Sol's gotten a bit better at handling more of his power as a Gear since GGX, so he's now able to handle two sacred weapons power's at once. This is also why he appears to be much more muscular than previous games.

That reveal about Ky was really interesting for me, because it's not meant to imply that Ky is stronger, but rather to give insight on why he was inflexible with his views on morality when he was younger.

Sol and Ky both have reasons that are more important than life itself as to why they can never fight at full power. In Sol's case, he has access to 100% of his power as a Gear at any time, but it's a one way transformation. Sol is a monster, but his mind is still very human (hence the cruelly ironic words he said regarding a human's perception while still human himself. Transformation into something else isn't much different than death). DI is actually him holding himself between transformations.

As for that scene with Ky, we get insight that Ky's techniques as a soldier in the Holy Order are for killing and nothing else. Remember, Ky was a child soldier because the Crusades made humanity desperate enough to need anyone who could fight, regardless of anything else. Ky was only 15 when he met Sol. I think the idea was that since the Crusades were such a brutal, desperate time, Ky started clinging to binary morality because it was the only thing that could be simple to him. "Good people are good, bad people are bad. Don't think about it, just focus on killing to survive." I can see why a 15 year old soldier would cling to such an idea, considering it was all he knew at that point.

There are Japanese colonies scattered around Illyrian territories in West and East Asia. Japan itself was vaporized by Justice at the start of the Crusades. The Japan stage is literally rocks near a hole in the ocean that hasn't filled 200 years later. Interestingly enough, while Daisuke is Japanese, he was born in South Africa.

America in GG was able to help fight back Gears and was the first line of defense in the early days of the Crusades before the Holy Orders were founded. America itself suffered heavy damage to its land as a result. Most of America in GG looks like the setting of Trigun. Vast deserts and wastelands with Bio Domes with futuristic cities for settlements. Sol has a safehouse in the desert that was once the Boston Seabed. Sol himself grew up in Manhattan, which is why his stage is NYC. Somehow the Statue of Liberty survived all of this, albeit on its side. Each time the NYC stage shows up, you can see that they're slowly raising it back up. It's completely upright in Xrd, but with constructions supports still attached

It occurred to me that the last time I was on the wiki was in 2010. I should check it out to see if my information is still accurate some time. Most of what I know about the lore are things I picked up as they were still happening, all on early 2000s internet. I also have a bad habit of not writing it down and committing it to memory instead. Which works most of the time, but I always appreciate it when someone who knows can correct me. It's always fun to learn more about GG's lore because there's so much of it that just got lost to time that can also resurface in the most unexpected places. To me it's like a really good, interactive, mid 90s anime that's been going on for most of my life while continuing to be interesting.

Look, I just got the game, never played a fighter game before and I'm not even touching story mode or online until I've been through training.

I've gotten through the tutorial (which was pretty fucking comfy aside from me not quite understand Roman cancels)

And now I tried to do the Minigames and I CANT FUCKING DO IT.

I CANT FUCKING DO THE GRAND VIPER AND SIMALTANEOUSLY MASH THE SIDE BUTTONS TO GET THROUGH.

Why is this so difficult, already it's hard to do the grand viper without multiple tries but than I never quite make it past the fucking fireballs. Wtf can i do? Because it seems impossible to do the move combo AND the button mashing.

It's funny how fighting games are a strictly niche genre at a fundamental level and most people who actually play them don't just stick to one single series. So it becomes obvious when shitposters come into the recent GG threads to attempt to derail them with the typical console wars type posts, but replace "Xbox" and Sony" with "GG" and "BB".
