Every development house has to start somewhere. People thought Metroid Prime was going to be a smoldering pile of trash when Nintendo announced Retro Studios was going to do it.

Retro Studios wasn't replacing another dev team halfway through making Metroid Prime. They worked with Nintendo from beginning to end.

Them being chosen was a bad idea, and having any lead dev fired 1 year into production is awful. You only fire your lead devs if the project is going disastrously. Even if you have the best devs ever, you then half 1 year of money wasted, 1 year of dev time gone. You then have to just sort of the coding mess that the old devs made, which might mean re-writing much of everything. It's really a disaster.

So it's confirmed to be a disatser, and the new devs MIGHT right it but the chanses are stacked against it.

Inti got straight up fired. They were supposed to be the sole devs of the game from beginning to end. But 3D shit is way beyond them.

Iga never says why he fired Inti, but goes on why he hired DICO and monobit. He cites:

>need to create professional modern graphics
>The 2016 Demo being a LOT of hard work to achieve

Inti were fired AFTER the E3 2016 demo. Shortly afterwards, Iga delays the game to 2018. The delay was because Inti was fired. He didn't want to delay the game, it was sort of an inevitability.
