Because it ain't that good. There's nothing outstanding about RE7 at all. At least 6 had great combat (though everything else was utter shite). I'd still rate 7 higher than 6 but that's it.

Usually when Japanese do that they do something insane like completely reworking the game - I half-suspect that this silly side-campaign will be as long as a third of the main campaign.

Anyhow, I really loved the game. It has a good map, good combat, and while the DLC modes were a little scheisty, the full package of the game is great fun. I actually wish it was a little longer and a little bigger in scope (ie more opportunities for the family to ambush you), but what was there is probably the most enjoyable RE game in a decade.

Hey guys, I just got a new PC and a controller for it, which newer REs are worth buying on Steam? I haven't played one since 4.
Any of them got some good (not dead) online co-op? If not, I'd be down for just a good single player.

It didn't fail, it was a bigger success than RE6 on launch. They went back to small scale horror for a reason.

RE7 sold like 3.5 mil when they wanted 4 million. While RE6 sold 4.5 mil when they wanted 7 million. I don't think RE6 hit its target until they re-released it on PS4/Xbone. Selling shitloads means nothing if you burn too much money on development.

RE5 is OK, but it was designed as a co-op game, so playing it single-player can be annoying. It is kinda like "you like RE4? Well have a little bit more of RE4!" Like reheated dinner.

RE6, despite what some defenders/tryhards say, is just a lame game. Skip it.

If you haven't it's highly recommended to check out the Resident Evil 1 remake. I would say RE7 is well worth playing (along with the season pass DLC), though that game is far better with a mouse+keyboard (being an FPS).

Who here's hoping we get another RE game like 7?
I haven't loved a game this much since Alien Isolation and I need another horror game like RE7.
I'm glad Capcom decided to return to horror and I seriously hope RE 2 Remake will be as good as Remake was.

Either way I would love to see a trilogy of first person RE games I think it would be awesome just give me more enemies types and a better final boss and ill bet set.
