As tremere, you can fuck up by insulting Strauss so he refuses to talk with you or if you betray him by giving away his gargoyle secret to Abrams.
If you keep his secret, you enter the pyramid and get the haven as long as you haven't been an ass.

Sewers aren't even that bad, they're just exaggerated by players that didn't invest in combat and got fucked up the ass. They're a bit longer than they should be, but the atmosphere is built up well with the enemies hiding in the pipes, the eviscerated monstrosities, the ambient sounds and the journals you find around.

Yeah, it's a good thing that most people play the GOG version now, because it's pre-patched with the basic UP which means that first-timers don't get confused in the installation and put plus. The plus version is meant to be played after a few times so you can see some unfinished unused content. But that content doesn't mesh in the game normally, it's for the fans to see what could've been, its quality is not on par with the rest.

Although I guess you might've hated how long the sewers actually are after playing then, so it really depends on the person.

I think the best clan quests are ventrue and tremere. Nosferatu was kinda fun but probably just because I love the clan. I don't think the others are worth bothering with, but you can try.

Yes there's a quest with a kuei jin date. It's actually better than I thought it would be, and adds a much-needed dimension to the kuei-jin, their social structure, politics etc that was missing from the game's representation of them as "those devils from the east". I'd say don't miss it, it's one of the highlights of the mod when you reach chinatown. It also has some different dialogue choices based on what clan you are. For fan content, it's the best you're going to get I'm afraid.

Play Basic for your first time. Then play Basic again, but with a different Clan. Try that maybe 3-4 times in total.
Then do the same but with Plus.

Basic is bugfixes and minor tweaks. Plus restores cut content and creates one hidden area out of unused assets and concept art and and changes things like makes you start some areas somewhere else. Also allows you to kill the werewolf in personal combat.

Think its mostly due to the atmosphere of the world combined with the amazing music, this is especially true for the beginning of the game. The classes are also pretty interesting with each having 3 different types of skills/magic to use mixed with character stats that you upgrade with xp that you get from completing quests. There's also pretty nice characters that you can see that are being posted around. Personally got hooked because of the different clans that offer different playstyles.

I did a melee Tremere build(and Tremere have only 4 points max to it).
Blood Magic is always good ingame, the first magic spell is a single target/istant damage spell that deals damage AND rewards you with extra blood if you wait some seconds before using it again. (and the target is not a humanoid/bloodless obviously)

Think it like a mage class of any other RPGs.
Cast magic shit and turning people into living grenades that explode killing everything but also weaker compared to other classes.
Ranged weapons are your main course to damage when magic is not as effective, but i'm more into a melee guy so i kinda gimped myself.
Never had any issues until bossed mid/late game right when, Troika finished money and time budget

To be fair, the tremere disadvantage in physical skills doesn't gimp you from melee. Having 9 instead of 10 in melee is not that big of a deal, especially when you have magic to back you up, melee should just be for the cannon fodder or for cleaning up after your blood magic. And a feat of 9 is more than enough. Using ranged on top of blood magic is just overkill, I find playing tremere with melee is more convenient.

Bloodlust Shadowhunter is inspired by VtMB but it's more of a dungeon crawler. I played it a couple times, it's not that bad though it has a few issues like being forced to dungeon crawl for a randomly dropped quest item and a part of the game probably being slightly worse than the sewers of VtMB.

Not a game but I'd recommend the first "Blade" movie though, it has multiple similarities with VtMB.

Yes, she just has a ton of HP. Either need to be good with firearms or use the disciplines that can be spammed for a fair bit of damage (Tremere thaumaturgy level 1, Nosferatu animalism level 2).

There were really two camps in VtMR MP.

You had the default lobbies that consisted of Brazilians with cheats flying around the map spitting out dozens of zulos

Then you had the role-players who used the game as a tabletop game with 3D models. The game had a built in dice-rolling and storyteller system. I played it almost every day when I was in high school. There were a lot of community made maps, props and models that we used.

It was pretty unique as far as P&P games go. You had people joining in and out and it was based a lot on the honor system. The ST didn't have access to the players' character sheets, unless they sent it over AIM.

There was a lot of silly games, people playing out weird teenage sexual fantasies and drama but not much outright exploiting. It was a pretty tight community for a few years.

Yeah that's a good way to describe it, if you play as the criminal using a crossbow with the skill to get more bolts from dead enemies it's not as bad. I got locked out of a couple optional side quests by repeatedly telling the NPC I didn't have the item yet, and another by quitting it to check something and not being able to get it again, but they mainly just increase your reputation for the clans so it's not a big deal and you can get more. I think it was mainly made by one guy so that could explain the graphics. I like it too though, the puzzles and dungeon crawling are kinda fun sometimes.

Probably about a 7 on lore and a 5 on systems. It falls for stuff like the old trope of all members of the same clan live in the same haven. There's a mission where vampires are walking around during the day and being perfectly fine as long as they're in the shade. The mechanics are loosely based on the P&P system but differ quite significantly.

Nice, while this thread is alive, I have a question about mods: I remember ages ago I was playing a build that had a gradual blood loss. Basically, while you are in-game, you lost some BP so you have to feed a lot more often. I absolutely loved it.

Reinstalled the game, got the Wesp patch. Discovered that the blood loss was part of the Camarilla mod. But Camarilla mod doesn't have some of the stuff that Wesp has that I like, so I switched back to Wesp.

Anyone knows if the blood loss mod was ever released on its own?
