One of the best 2D Zeldas. The only flaw in it is that it gets somewhat annoying to switch between different equipment to traverse the overworld.

I don't know what this DX shit is all about, but Link's awakening is the best zelda title on gb.

It's limited compared to snes and newer titles, but it was a fine game for its time.

You can also hardlock the game if you throw an orb in the wrong spot.

Both are great Zelda games and even if they're both in overhead view, the gameplay can even feel different. I'd say go for LADX first as it is faster to beat and 100%.

Link's Awakening is a sequel to A Link to the Past, but I'd say both are good to start with. ALTTP introduced most gameplay concepts that became standards to 2D and 3D Zeldas until Breath of the Wild, while Link's Awakening introduced an increase in story focus and character interactions that would also become standard.
