It's so hard to explain to people why DD is great for some reason

If you just play it randomly on your own you will miss like 80% of what the game has to offer, not understand shit, and think that bosses are damage sponges while spamming a single skill, running out of stamina every second and complaining how dumb the pawns are

Honestly visiting the /ddg/ threads has made this game so much more than it actually is, it's ridiculous. Especially the pawn training/testing, all the documentation done by the anons, sharing cool stories, was so fun

every dmg instance that doesn't outright instakill you from full hp can as well not exist, because of infinite supply of healing items that can:
a) be used instantly with a hotkey
b) be used from the inventory by pausing the game ala skyrim-style

as if it wasn't enough, you can recover stamina the same way.

I dunno, I found that healing was only sufficient, not overwhelming. Had to do some crafting a few times too since the raw materials don't restore that much

Witch waifu was a great help with that my first playthrough, though I've only played on hard so can't say anything about normal

I want to love this game but I just can't. It's so damn overrated on this board. The combat is horrible, the voice acting is atrocious, quests, world and story are uninspired, pawns are the most obnoxious fucking thing in any videogame... What am I missing here? This game sucks.

I fell in love with Dragons Dogma when I got fucking wasted one night. I had gotten minor alcohol poisoning because I just kept chugging all kinds of drinks, I don't even know why.

After I had gotten home from being really sick at night at my friends, and generally just wallowing in my own sickness and unease in my house, I decided I wasn't going to do anything but play Dragons Dogma that I had bought the day before.

Oh my god it was so fucking good. I played for like 16hrs straight. Nothing will compare to the first time I played the game. It felt like such an adventure, getting lost, leveling up, meeting new pawns and trading them in and out. I didn't even know where I was or where I was going. Running out of supplies, trying to scavenge, running into all kinds of monsters and finding treasures.

Nothing has felt as good as this game ever has, personally. I love the game so much and it DESERVES to have a sequel, a proper sequel.

You can just have the weight limit apply to equipped items only, not inventory stuff. Also have items utilize a real time consumption animation. But personally the weight thing doesn't bother me, I like to immerse myself and roleplay, having to choose what to take on adventures adds to it.

Recently I had the idea of making a fists only run on hard mode DD.
