Bloodborne was my first soulsborne game and after beating it, I decided to try out Dark Souls and my god I have to really get used to the slower dodges, no rally, and using a shield, as I died to the second boss and the journey there five times.

DeS threads were an anomaly on /v/.

I've never seen threads with that level of excitement, discovery and friendliness ever again, and those threads lasted for over a year. Early Dark Souls threads were still great, but after the PC release everything started going downhill and are still finding new bottoms.

It never occured to you that people heard of the drake sword in threads before they had the game and then went ahead and got it because they were intimidated, only to realise how much they fucked themselves later on when they learned what scaling is. This happened to me and i thought it added a lot to the discovery and learning aspect of the game

I know Souls games can be made laughably easy by knowing about certain things and using them, such as abusing magic and pyromancy or letting summons carry you trough the whole game, but why would anyone pick up a game known for its challenge only to mitigate the challenge?
