Lack of formations is the real killer for me. Infantry battles are basically just blob wars and spells are generally pretty lacklustre.

Well yeah, the balance is absolute dogshit but CA have only ever managed to get balance close to decent once in a TW game and that was after 2 years of patching.

You know I get the complaints about each campaign having a 'best route' which can make it stale but people have to recognise the world was created to enforce a status quo it wasn't designed for one faction to win everything.


That said they need to make the campaign ai willing to engage you in even pitched battles and try and fight sieges (even if it fails).
It's so easy to break the game by adding walls to your minor settlements, the little bitch ai doesn't know what to take.

Vampires and Wood Elves are so much fucking fun.

Norsca looks like they more or less just rehashed Wood Elf mechanics and gave it a chaos theme. Which is more than okay with me, I just wish Throgg looked more imposing.

in those cases you can make alliances with some of those smaller nations and conquer some parts from the large nation and from those small ones that have no allies and leaves its one settlement undefended.
after conquering the large nation you can either conquer the smaller ones or use them as fighting zone against another big nation
