2nd boss (first big boss of the area) in Ys: The Oath in Felghana. It's impossible to find Ruby upgrade before the boss, because the game doesn't tell you anything, so you have to power through her with non-upgraded fireball. The very first boss is kind of a casual filter too, because, before him it's impossible to die 50 times in a row.

I would say some of the first Gran Turismo licenses, because I'm the casual, since I never got them.

No you're not, at least not if you prefer not to. What happens is when you hit the DF direction on the way from forward to down, it messes up your input.
So you have to account for the df actuation zone when going from forward to down.

I've exaggerated the inputs a little bit, but it's basically what happens.

From SF4 forward (might even be from 3S), even a DF->D->DF input will come out as a DP, so I think it's more than just the input though. They're probably too slow on the input because it's not a fluid motion like the quarter circle forward.
