Well one thing I can say for FFXV that I can't say so much for XIV is that FFXV, at least at some point in its development, tried to carve out its own unique place in the franchise whereas FFXIV is more than happy to ride off the nostalgia that previous entries have engendered in the fans.

FFXV ends with a running (flying) fight against Ardyn over the ruins of Insomnia.

FFXIV's current end game fight is against Exdeath. the game also rips models from FFXI/XII/XIII and just slaps them in there

FFXV isn't the product of laziness or anything, just incompetence. FFXIV aims for the the low bar and does its best to clear it by a fraction.

As for the Exosuit thing yeah, they old ones looked shit and so did these, but the legal troubles didn't come from the Japanese company who owns Power Rangers but the American one who never designed the suits or anything, just bought the rights to air it and cut it into pieces to make it look like it was made in America.

Well, Exdeath is optional content. The main story stuff in XIV isn't really that full of nostalgia or ff fanservice. Overall the story is very much it's own thing, just rather simple, but t has nice characters.
I mean you also fight summons and shit in XV and most monster designs are oldschool.

One of the things that really fucks XV is the 4-5 man party. The AI isn't the best, but its still there. Their models are decent. Plus they have ram allocated for things like weapon switching and techs. Horizon and Witching having you be alone helps a lot resource wise

Yeah it's weird. I mean balancing gameplay and chaning some things here and their is fine, but they streamlined and almost redesigned the whole thing like a year before it went gold. You can tell the team couldn't keep up with all the feedback garbage, they just tried to make it work and said fuck it to any kind of gameplay balance. I almsot feel bad for them, you can tell from the early gameplay videos and duscae that they had great combat system in mind that was still very grounded instead of something where you can just teleport around every 2 seconds and MP management doesn't even matter anymore because warp points are OP. In Duscae they were more of a tool to get out of bad situations instead of abusing them t have infinite MP. Taking away passive and active weapon abilites was also a huge mistake. I loved that every weapon had a special thing with just a button press and that some "weaker" weapons were actually better because of their passive abilites like in KH2. Now it's just better stats and nothing else

Uh no a lot of those things work exactly the same in the final game while they added manual weapon switching for combos instead of auto weapons with 1 hit each, plus added aerial combos. Weapons still have passive abilities and the techniques were moved to manual finishers/directional inputs in favor of putting party tech commands into the game.

There hasn't been a great Final Fantasy game in the past 10 years.

Looking closer at the armor it pretty much is Glauca's armor. They look like it had the black bits and the ab part attached on top in order to try and reconstruct it

Since this type of armor is supposed to be ancient solheim magitek it's likely they were damaged and according to the description were repurposed by Cid.

Ok I agree with you there, though you could count XIV:ARR as a great comeback considering how shit 1.0 was. I'm not saying XIII and XV are shit though, they're still pretty good games.

The last FF game that totally blew me away was FFXI. The sheer amount of content, stories, music, areas, lore and pretty deep battle and job system just made me blow hundreds and hundreds of hours into it like it was nothing.
