I will forever disagree with the people who prefer the In Water ending. James' redemption after going through hell is much more satisfying to me. It's also more in line with the canon ends for the other 3 SH games.

Who knows. It could have been a jumpscare fest, a third person action game with freaky shit in the same style as PT, it could have been close to one of the games in the original trilogy. The fact that the teaser game wasn't a sample of the final product takes away the clues of what the actual game would be.
If I had to guess I'd say something like the Evil Within but better in every way.
