The whole airstrip prolouge was entirely different, here's how it happened:

After the scene on the plane, it lands on the airstrip in front of the goop. The whole scene with the toads and Peach seeing Shadow Mario happens. But instead of Toadsworth telling Mario to find some assistance, it shows Mario touching the goop and getting his glove dirty. He cringes and says "Whoah." Then piantas dressed like firefighters are shown running up to the mess. They then clean it all up with a hose and run away. Then a shine sprite appears. The cutscene finally ends, and for a brief moment, you can control Mario. You can run around the airstrip, but to move on, you collect the shine. Then another cutscene triggers showing cops noticing Mario holding a shine and instantly capturing him. Still no F.L.U.D.D.
Also, Mario never escapes the jail in gameplay. I think I remember breaking a box or something to get out....or something similar idk. All I remember is something different happening in the jail, not just a still image of Mario in it

i remember it as he describes it. so i think im remember an early beta that i saw in a commercial as a kid.

When I was a kid, I was playing Majora's mask right at the end of the first three days (when you're stuck as a deku scrub) and I vividly remember there being people in clock town dancing around for the festival during the clock tower cutscene. I never saw it again and I remember trying to replicate it for years thinking it was some big secret cutscene or someting.

This isn't really a mandella effect scenario, just a story about how our brains can make up silly things.
