BC heroics were pretty brutal in general. I ran The Mechanar so many times for The Sun Eater, then Shattered Halls heroic was probably one of the most difficult dungeons 5 mans Blizzard ever created. BT attunement was pretty extensive as well.

I miss the days when older content stayed relevant because you actually had to clear it to progress for attunements. Even with welfare epics added later in BC you were still required to clear raid tiers and while Sunwell had no attunement quest, it basically had a soft attunement with Brutallus being a massive gear check who you wouldn't clear without a significant amount of Tier 6 level gear. Nowadays you just farm up token welfare gear and skip everything to the current content.
