For those who truly, actually don't get it and aren't just trying to piss me off.

The bits before she gets to Oz are black and white stylistically to represent a thematic contrast as well as a realistic representation of living in Kansas. Once she gets there, color explosion.

>>
>>385650719

You are confuting a couple different takes on Oz though. In the first movie Oz does not real, it is just her dream based on the people she knows in Kansas. In the movie Return to Oz, this "it was all a dream" view is the view taken by the villainous doctor who wants to cure her of her delusions, and Oz is portrayed as real, but with the twist that the doctor is double-cast as a villain in Oz, so it's never clear how real any of it was. In the books, however, Oz is unambiguously a real place to which Dorothy eventually permanently moves, ditching Kansas because I mean come on, compared to Oz it fucking sucks, and the narrative voice never suggests Oz or the surrounding lands to be a dream or in any way unreal.

Too many games to review. Your hobby becomes a job and it sucks the joy out of taking the time to learn a game. If a journalist can't learn a game within minutes then it's a bad game. No one wants to have to mess around with the controls, consult a FAQ/walkthough, or bother with a tutorial.

I can't remember where the review was, and I've looked high-and-low for a while and have been unable to find it, however I'm pretty sure it was from gamespot and they later removed it.

It was a review of .hack//GU Vol. 1 and it was literally only a paragraph long, where they gave the game a 5/10 and it was painfully obvious they had only gotten through the prologue and played the tutorial dungeon. But even that doesn't make sense because they go on to complain about how the graphics and facials specifically during cutscenes look like "dreamcast graphics" which is just insane.

That's around the time when I started to totally disregard games "journalism"

IGN's "World Wide Soccer Manager 2009 / Football manager"

They gave it to some dude who has never played a manager game and complained:
>As far as traditional gameplay goes, there really isn’t any in Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009. Apart from managing your roster and coaching your team, there really isn’t anything to do at all. So, unless you really enjoy clicking on menu buttons, you’ll find your interaction with this game extremely disappointing.

>tfw you actually lived though the switch from black and white to color TV
When I was a kid and our family was the first house in our neighborhood to get a color TV, that shit blew my fucking mind.

I'm getting way too old for this board.

It's a fair assumption and that specific example isn't the point of the thread anyway, fag.

I never had auto aim turned on in any game and I've been playing on consoles since SNES. At least make an effort the next time you want to shit on the platform.

Mouse aiming is better for viewers watching some tournament because it gives you more precision in less time. I personally enjoy playing on gamepad more since it doesn't matter when your enemies are npcs or other players using the exact same hardware.

>I never had auto aim turned on in any game
Bullshit, even if you disable it in menus (if you even can) it still is enabled for the most part because gamepad aiming without any kind of assist is plain unplayable.

Probably. But as a little kid I remember when my family switched from pic related to a wall-mounted Plasma flatscreen. That was quite the change, and at the time that new tv costed like $5000 whereas nowadays, if you can even still find them being sold, a plasma tv might only run you a few hundred.

Most console shooters have your aim gravitate towards the nearest target on top of the gameplay being slow as shit.

I had no auto aim in Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid V, inFAMOUS Second Son, The Last of Us and that's only this generation of games. I played Killzone Shadow Fall a long time ago but I don't remember it having auto aim either.

You will never be this pettily mad at the existence of a video game.

Word of advice for you. Before you go see it, get really stoned. And I mean really, almost passing out, stoned.
Its such a bad movie that I doubt the english language can covey how bad it is.

There is still aim assist turned on in all of those games however, without some kind of assist they would play way worse.
I think you just don't understand how the assists affect the aiming and so think you don't have it.

Erin Brockovich and The Seventh Seal.
Both were good.

Is this one of those threads where there are people trolling and people pretending to be trolled in order to troll the trollers?

No, the most culturally relevant one today would still be Alice in Wonderland.

I can somewhat understand that. Few would have the patience to go through that shit stage by stage dealing with the horrid rng.

If "beat the game" means "get the true ending" then the real surprise is that anyone did it at all because the devs clearly didnt want anyone to do that.
