How does this work on the 3DS?
From the church it looks like it takes at least 10 seconds to get to where you are standing on the 3D version.

I'm still surprised the team went out of their way to make sure there was PS4 and 3DS version of the game. Granted I started getting into DQ with IX, I'm guessing the series must have a pretty strong handheld following if they felt people would choose it over the PS4.

There is no real continuity to worry with, playing them out of order doesn't really matter. If you don't like old games, start with DQ 4 then move up in order. You can also start with 8 but it may ruin the others for you. Otherwise, just play them all in order, can't go wrong.

You put the ingredients onto this magic anvil looking thing. Then the weapon or armor you're making is separated into segments and you hammer each segment an amount of times. Each segment has a bar, and the idea is to get each bar into a sweet zone. Then when you get each bar where you want it, you finish and depending how close you got each bar, your weapon gets +1 or +2 or +3 (not sure how it goes)

There's a good chance we'll get that. On an interview they had on the DQ11, near the end Koichi Sugiyama said he'll be focusing on orchestrating the music with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra after release. Considering the DQIX and X Symphonic Suites were out only a couple of months after their initial release, it's certain that one will be released for DQ11 before we'll ever get the localization.

It's just a matter of footing the bill for the symphonic music (or however that works, I'm not sure what goes on to get the music there) to use for the localization.

Not much to say, it's more DQ with a Minecraft skin than Minecraft with a DQ skin IMO. Much more story heavy with actual objectives, including boss battles.

It's kind of like Terraria without the big random bosses. You have goals and quests, and there are NPCs that ask you to build specific buildings in specific ways.

It's easy, because it's a minecraft game essentially, but the zoomed-back perspective and the emphasis on exploration and fighting monsters sets it apart in my opinion. If you're a real creative type with a lot of free time you can do a lot of things, and there's actual stuff to find lying around the world.

That being said, because of that the levels aren't randomly generated and story mode kind of feels like a big tutorial, with the whole game "This is how you build a this, please build me one."

If you're a fan of dragon quest or minecraft, you'll probably like it. If you're a fan of both, I can imagine it doin' a lot for you.
