From what i've seen, Granblue just feels a bit too much like generic Japanese fantasy to me. It ticks all the boxes but doesn't do a lot to really distinguish itself.

Plus, while having the same artist does help consistency (no mistakes like Jing Ke and Cleo), it look a bit samey and boring.

Fate's biggest pull is the franchise behind it and all the established lore/history it draws from, no question.

Gbf if you want a game that requires a massive grind and you have surplus spare time, otherwise you won't get anywhere in that.

FGO if you need a time waster that you spend 30min on during commute.

What I mean is: due to guest artists in FGO, there's likely going to be designs that appeal to everyone and there's a greater variety available (with the notable exception of Saberfaces).

Sure, it's led to some big misses but the overall result is probably better than if Takeuchi or any other regular artist was doing all the art. And even thoses misses probably have the odd fan.

While GBF is far more consistent with better quality control, each character leaves less of an impression due to their simularity to others in the cast.

I'm probably being unfair to GBF though as Fate characters also have the 'first impression' advantage of being associated with an actual 'character' from history.

I just like Granblue more. It's got a clear, set art style, the music is a solid 8/10 most of the time, sometimes 10/10, it's more lively and fun and everything is so much more straight forward. Also the characters are mostly original characters made for the game, Fate's characters seem to be 90% real people turned into anime shit and the designs are fucking awful. I just saw "Sherlock Holmes", generic pretty boy with a sword and some kind of over-shirt corset?

The main appeal is the grind, actually. Particularly GBF has perfected the formula of continually dropping you into a new grind, making it seem manageable and worthwhile, splitting up the grind into many slightly different tasks so it feels like you're progressing through it instead of just doing the same thing over and over again, and dropping you into a new grind just before you finish your current one. And the social aspect reinforces it all, the multiplayer aspects gives just enough incentive to make some friends to play with, and you end up influencing each other to play more.

- Granblue fantasy has better production value, the music by uematsu and the art by minaba makes for an amazing combination that will bring you back to the era of classic JRPG

- Fate Grand Order has the most interessing battle system, the idea of having to pick 3 action per turn which give you different advantage is waaaaaaay better than GBF where gaining DATA and abusing enmity is all that matter

this is because most of the important fight in GBF are against huge meat wall that reward whoever deals the most damage, since everything has like a billion HP, everything takes forever to die which just makes everything so goddamn boring

- Granblue fantasy has the more interessing character, which is amusing considering that F/GO is the game with the wacky premise

- granblue fantasy has better gacha rate, however most of granblue fantasy character are shit (this is partly because most of the defense oriented character are shit) while in FGO there isn't such a net difference so in the end i think they are about the same

- FGO somewhat respect the player time, in GBF everything takes an eternity to do and GBF has THE WORST and i mean THE WORST grind i have ever seen in a videogame and i fucking play disgaea

i enjoyed my time with GBF more than i'm enjoying FGO who just feels kinda bland and soulless but i wouldn't recomend anyone to get into GBF after playing it for so long it started to feel like a jobs
