Almost 85% of it's games were at least 8/10. no SJW, no politics, new ideas, more imagination, new gameplay concepts, best 3D era, graphics were secondary, no PvP cancer, games were finished and with no DLCs, very few bugs, the console itself had multiple years of life, i could go on forever, i miss it all.

Shows its age on modern 60 inch 4k televisions. The best versions of some of the heavy hitters were usually available elsewhere. Black and Timesplitters Future Perfect on Xbox and Killer 7 on Gamecube off the top of my head. Great console though, I actually preferred the online offers on it compared to Xbox. Socom, Resident Evil Outbreak, Jak X, etc.

It did have some very high quality ones but the ps2 shits all over it by sheer volume of quantity AND quality of exclusives . Also, PC-like shit like muh online multiplayer, muh generic fps games (basically all Microsoft offered as a first party publisher) and xbox live pushed console gaming in the direction of becoming more shitty like it is today, when 95% of any sony/Microsoft library is a multiplat which runs best on a PC.

these are top tier games that are/were exclusive at the time

then 2nd tier games i like that are exclusive are:

with that lineup of games, i can't imagine how someone would pick Gamecube/Xbox over the PS2 unless all you did was playing 44 player games.

i do obviously agree with it being worse hardware wise, no 4 controller ports and shit graphics. dualshock 2 was great though

The core gaming community have grown too accustomed to games being developed and catered by the industry, when the community itself can actually produce its own content for themselves, instead of buying into games that are characterised by what you described in your post.
