I've spent around 20hours on this now.

It's not a tower defense game.

The AI doesn't follow a route, any route you've built.
They take the shortest route to the goal
So if you build a long perfect path full of traps, they will just hit the wall to get to the goal.

It's more about maintaining the walls and shoot the enemies yourself rather than placing traps.

I was only able to get more than 3heroes thanks to lucking out on that random gift of 15 llamas.
While it isn't a difficult game, buying llamas is the way to progress.

But it's fun.
