I call BS on the shield part. My friend streamed Dark Souls 3 for a few of his friends on his first playthrough, he used a longsword and shield the entire game to great effect. Yeah, you can't block EVERYTHING but you can block enough to make it worthwhile.

Dodging everything is still the best once you "git gud" though.

What game is he playing? Granted, using UGS against shit like the Champ was fucking cancer. The one hit I'd get with a slow weapon I could just do way more damage in the same timeframe with a nice greatsword like claymore or BKS. Weaps in DS3 are basically for fashion, I think only a couple of the DLC ones really stand-out.

They put in no where near the same effort for the main game, even boss weapon shit like Faron greatsword

DaS1 sorcerer easily. It's easy and as soon as you can, unlock the DLC and rush to get Dark Beads. It's at that point you become an unstoppable death machine that literally 2-4 shots every boss in the game outside of the DLC bosses which are resistant to dark magic.

Everything else you kite and either stunlock or just flat out blow up with Heavy Soul Arrows or Crystal Magic Spears
