Only anime I have ever liked was Death Note and Code Geass. I thought I loved Cowboy Bebop as a kid but upon rewatching it was unbelievably slow paced. Dropped it at episode 14. Welcome to the NHK was great when I was a NEET after high school for a few years. I still give it a yearly rewatch around Christmas because it reminds me of my lowest points and its endearing. Every thing else was recommendations from 4chan and My Anime List, which resulted in what you could classify as the shovelware of anime. Aimless, boring shows that are called masterpieces because OMG DID U SEE HER TITTIES? HAHA EPIC MY ANIME BRO!

Good Jap games are rare. The best ones are on Xbox and Xbox 360. Breakdown, Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Monkey Ball, Jet Set Radio Future, Phantasy Star Universe, Chromehounds, Resident Evil 5/6 etc. I have a bunch of gems that I keep my Xbox and 360 plugged in still for. Funny how the American consoles are the ones that secured the best Japanese games.

I wouldn't say I hate anime, but I have a very high standard. So I mostly watch films and some of the shorter series'. Anything which shows high school girls in a sexual or intentionally overly-cutesy way is instantly garbage in my books. Young girls being cute? That's fine. 17 year-old girls talking and behaving like children? That's mental illness.

I also have no interest in anything where fighting moves have silly names. It's not a "flaming spirit-dragon knuckle-ball", it's a punch. Call it a fucking punch. Better yet, don't call it anything. Calling out the name of your attack while doing it is retarded.

Because I have a higher standard, I also don't enjoy MOST weebshit games. A very large majority of them are complete garbage. There's some very impressive and creative ones. Some of the best games in the world are Japanese. But the amount of cookie-cutter crap they make is absolutely repulsive.

I think Senran Kagura is a good example of a bad game which gets free reign just because it appeals to weebs with low standards (which happens to be a huge majority of weebs). The last Senran Kagura game I played was Estival Versus. You could beat most of the levels and win every major fight by repeating the same jump attack over and over. It worked for most characters. That is not good game design. Yet, the game gets praised to the rafters right here on /v/. A board where everyone likes to think they have superior taste in games. You don't. Senran Kagura is shit.

I don't think that's true. anime is bad because there are inherent problems with it that reoccur in virtually every anime i have ever seen and are exclusive to the medium.

Look at something like GoT for example. Look how well reserved it is, even when they attempt humor it's often grounded and tonally consistent with the rest of the show. The writers of the show aren't being so anal about stuff like that for the sake of being pretensions assholes but cause they want the show to be believable thus relatable thus creating a stronger emotional attachment and reaction from the viewers....bla...bla...bla.

Compare that with something like FMA: Brotherhood. The show is ridiculously melodramatic, characters cry buckets of tears every five minutes often about relatively trivial things but seconds later the show is all like "lmao the kid doesn't like when people call him short"

That's just fucking moronic man and I can't reconcile with the fact that someone watches stuff like FMA and goes "yeah that's some quality writing".
