You've got society to build up and the other two ships that made it to meet up with.
You've got he entirety of space and the threats in it like Ghost and the Samaar Federation.
You've got the mysteries of the planet itself including how everyone even still functions, why is Lao still alive, and how the guy who came to see him on the beach is.
Although knowing Takahashi, the planet weirdness stuff is probably explained by a Zohar/Wave Existence analogy

I think the ending sucked cock because I know there won't be a sequel for at least 5 years if ever, and it basically solves none of the plot points in the game. I can hardly justify calling it an ending.

I'm not saying I expected a complete closure and hollywood happy ending, but I did expect SOME closure or at least SOME of the plot points having some meaningful closure, but what we got is just bullshit. The most unsatisfying ending I have experienced in recent years and it's pretty bad if we are talking about an RPG that easily takes 100+ hours to finish.

Boss fights so far weren't the issue.
The only reason I struggled at chapter 8 boss was because I wasn't sure who to attack and Lin dying constantly. Seems like the best strategy was simply focusing on the big monster first and then kill the almost harmless alien girl. The real shit was the gate defense.

I got 100% completion yesterday. The feeling of reaching Cauldros on foot and sneaking around with carefully-placed jumps way earlier than intended, getting a Skell, getting the flight module and lifting off from NLA into the world, getting endgame equipment and raping a Millesaur in one shot, and finally crafting all the augments I needed and slowly taking the Telethia down is unlike anything I've ever experienced in other games. The first Xenoblade came close with a few things, but the way X is structured lends itself more to this feel of slowly building your strenght up and going from hunted to hunter.

Man if there was one thing was bummed out about in X was the fact that you couldn't play as any of the alien races. If X get's a sequel on the top of my wish list is alien party members, perhaps with race specific abilities/traits to make them stand out. Orpheans are the fastest race with high evade, but weak to physical and fire attacks, trash men are resistant/immune to most debuffs, but their damage is shit etc.
