it's the only one worth homebrew and emulating on
the original 3ds has a ~300mhz dual core which is trash for emulation, where the n3ds has an ~800mhz quad core. so yeah it's basically required if you wanna do emulation.

kindve a tangent, but should I play Xenoblade 3d before getting 2 for switch? Is 3d better than the Wii version and is it even worth playing at all to be able to play and understand 2?

From what I've heard, 3D is pretty much the same game as the wii version with downgraded graphics.
According to the developer, 2 is not connected to the original at all so you can just skip to that if you want.
Do plan on playing the original at some point though. It's really fucking good.

Also kind of an amazing technical feat. The textures are heavily compressed but it still manages to be a really good looking game and is fully playable in 3d unlike some of the other games in the 3ds' library

man, I feel like I really missed out on the 3ds. I basically got it to be a Pokemon machine, but there are so many good games that I never played and now it feels like it's pointless to try to get into it now because it feels like Nintendo will start focusing on the switch.
