Mods fix it yet?

no amount of mods can fix it, either you like minecraft mode and install mods for that or you don't and finish the laughable story. far harbor was okay, but other than its awful. tes6 will be no better, actually it will probably be worse.

Neither Skyrim or FO4 can be made into good games with modding. The base structures for both games are just too barebones, no amount of modding can cover up the glaring holes in these foundations.

I'd say the last Bethesda game that could be 'fixed' with mods was Oblivion.
