which was better? /v/
They were both fucking garbage.
>>385530658
at the time WOTLK
in retrospect TBC
>>385530658
BC only because wotlk brought dungeon finder
>>385530658
Wrath
Best raid
Best leveling
Best music
Best lore
Best PvP
Couldn't stand TBC. Stopped playing around the time the major patch whose biggest feature was voice chat was released.
Not that I managed to play all the way through wotlk either. Stopped playing after I had finished Ulduar until ICC came out.
I still like vanilla the most, even though it's by far the worst mechanically.
>>385530838
wew waiting around and spamming /lfg sure was fun, not.
>>385530992
it is when youre neet
I feel like the super powerful classes like DK, DH and Warlock really shouldn't be playable.
Both were shit because WoW is garbage trash
>>385530992
Better than joining some random fucks from another server that don't even say hello and just rush
>>385530658
Wrath's setting with TBC's gameplay would've been perfect
>Join in TBC
>Start leveling a tauren warrior
>Keep running into a blood elf paladin shitter along the way, competing for spawns and all that
>Eventually start running dungeons and he keeps turning up
>Start DPS racing him then dueling him while we idle
>Add to friends list, become pals, do questing together, eventually shack up in a raid guild together.
This is why dungeon finder was a mistake. There is no community in modern WoW. Its a single player RPG with occasional match making for dungeons
>>385530658
I'll always play TBC, I hate Lich King
but Lich King is objectively better than both Vanilla and TBC just because it was the first time in WoW that everything was balanced enough for all the classes to be viable.
Mages and Shamans (besides resto) were almost extinct at the end of TBC since they had pitiful DPS.
Vanilla? So many classes were busted, most hybrid classes being forced into a specific role.
TBC introduced flying mounts which killed the world but LK brought dungeon finder which killed the people inside the world.
>>385531184
No. Wrath was mechanically much better than TBC, at least PvE wise.
Fire mage: Scorch every 30s, otherwise press fireball
Hunter: press your macro
Ele shaman: 3xLB 1xCL repeat
etc
>>385531913
>fire mage pve
I played on a private server for a few years and I refused to do any raids since I could still remember how incredibly boring it was on retail years before that.
I'll never understand how people can sit there and spam a button for hours.
>>385531670
Wish we could turn back time to the good old days
>>385530658
I'd rate it according to raid content so probably TBC then vanilla. I never got to experience vanilla naxx...;_;.
>>385531670
>dungeon finder was a mistake
For dps is was with 45 min que times but as a tank with who would sell that instant que with dps I made shit loads of gold from it.
>>385531670
did you two fugg?
>>385530992
People who don't understand what crippling damage the finder system did to the game's community need to take a step back.
Waiting could definitely be a pain, but it inevitably led to communication, and talking to people. Now you may as well be playing with bots.
>>385531670
What exactly is preventing the same exact thing from happening in Legion?
>>385530658
Mists of Pandaria
>>385535680
What exactly facilitates the same exact thing happening in legion? This type of thing is a common experience in earlier iterations of the game, and it doesn't happen at all now. Things like dungeon finder erase the need for that type of interaction.
>>385535680
Dungeon finder.
>>385530658
I really enjoyed playing rogue in WOTLK, especially combat spec for PvP.
>>385535680
Dungeon Finder.
Phasing.
Leveling is so easy people don't feel the need to group up.
Leveling is so fast that chatting with someone is a considerable waste of time, unlike in Vanilla or Tbc.
>>385531092
They shouldn't and warlock never even made sense.
>>385535680
Suprised no one even brought up the whole cross realm bullshit
TBC
>>385530838
>>385530992
>>385531119
>>385534198
>>385535568
would you be satisfied if dungeon finder only pulled people from your server?
after playing on nost before it died, finding people who wanted to do LBRS or UBRS was such a challenge.
>>385530838
I know dungeon finder was the catalyst that eventually led to 5 dudes silently running through a dungeon in 5 mins in full looms facerolling everything, but when it first came out is was so fucking refreshing that I didn't need to do this >>385530992 anymore. It's fantastic for people that only have a couple/no friends to play with
>>385538919
It's way too late now but it would have been better.
>>385539057
In my experience it took a couple of months before people stopped talking so for that brief time before the lfd started showing its drawbacks it was amazing.
>>385530658
Wrath pre-dungeon finder. Dungeons were good and were still long, the gear look great, Northrend was full of good areas (Howling Fjord and Grizzle Hills were maximum comfy), and Ulduar was an amazing raid, easily one of the best.
>>385539057
System where you could just see which people are looking for group in the same dungen as you was enough in my opinion. Making it a cross-server teleporter was a mistake.
>>385530658
BC.
