Just why
>>385528804
because fighting games cannot into esports due to the player base itself, not to mention it will be 99% Street Fighter because it is the only fighter most people care about.
>>385528804
It is to esports like how esports are to real sports
Because games that actually require skill are niche.
>>385529045
Sadly this seems to be the case. There's a lot of fuckwads out there who seem to think that Street Fighter is the only fighting game in existence just because it's the easiest to play.

what do you mean, too short in terms of numbers compared to other genres?
>>385528804
Too fast for most laypeople to follow what's going on, relatively inflexible meta so people can't follow changes.

I do agree. I was like that until i got to SFV, hated it and started playing GGXrd and Tekken7.

I agree with too fast, but it's easier to see player skill than, let's say, mobas. And mobas are huge.
Also, if the game is receiving patches the meta is in costant shift, just look at SFV season 1 (chun-li, nash and ryu being good) and season 2 (they are weak as fuck and rushdown characters took the throne.)

Because the FGC is full of autists posing as gangsters.
>>385528804
The skill ceiling and floor are too high

That's a beautiful death if it's the case

the crowds for current esports is completely different, much like how smash crowds are also just as different. Steam monsters love the shit that happens within the fgc and that does not particularly translate in esports. If you take that away it takes away from the interest, if you lose what makes the community what it is, then the product will not be as great.
Funnily enough though, in Japan and Korea it would work better because over the years they have had Tougeki and Tekken Crash, well known and relatively well ran events. This is where it really needs to be; less of the banter and higher quality games.

Definitely yes

we had SFV Crash too but i don't know if it did well, also Evo japan next year means the scene is probably growing there.
