They redid the translation so it's more flowery and less...well, Daravony.

Apply the patch that fixes the slowdown issue and you'll probably enjoy it.

The psp version is kind of fucking stupid in the sense that by the time you meet the requirements to unlock DRK, you are leveled far beyond what the content is designed for.

The PSP version is awful. Original game is very flawed as well, but it's flawed in that it seems like it was translated incompetently and is running on weak hardware. Both of which are just consequences of the time. The PSP version seems like it was created by a bunch of thirteen-year-olds. Just terrible.

It haven't played it but people usually shit on the new translation, the slowdown during some animations and something about the aspect ratio being wrong. I'm pretty sure the last two can be fixed with a patch though.

The WotL translation changes a lot of the meaning of the ps1 script for the sake of flowery dialogue. There is a world of difference between pic related and "tis your birth and faith that wrong you, not I".

Reeder works best when he's paired with Alex Smith, who actually tries to keep the meaning intact and not cram a lot of extra shit that wasn't there in the original (Wiegraf's WOTL dialogue is this in spades). Left to his own devices, Reeder just straight up turned FFT into his Game of Thrones fanfiction.
