What went wrong?

They numbered the series wrong, the third game you need to play is KH2, and KH3 is the 6th game you need to play.

This means that people that just play the numbered ones start partway into a series of jrpgs that are about 30 hours long each and are totally lost.

Not all that much other than the story, which is of course pretty subjective depending on the percentage of autism in your brain.

Otherwise, it's a pretty good series of ARPGs, with KH2:FM standing out as one of the best in the genre.

Can someone explain the insane love for Aqua? Her design is neat I guess and I prefer playing as spellcasters but as a character she is bland as a rock. Also the VA is not great (tho to be frank the material she is given is mostly garbo).

Not much, balance is fucked for some handheld games, but that's about it. The crazier the story gets the better and the OC characters had the best fights in the series.
