2. Buy an Amiibo powersave. It's chinkshit but comes with a reader and a re-writable disc you can use over and over again.

also, ntag215 cards can normally be written to more than once, but this is a limitation with the app/understanding of it. as far as I know, there's no option for physical cards that can be rewritten. devices like amiiiqo can be rewritten obviously.

Amiibo division at nintendo is an independent one. They have limited resources so they are the ones that decide if "making an amiibo" is worth it - actually making MORE than one toy, each game has to have at least one.

Developers, both internal and third parties, of couse want amiibos of their games because they are the bigger -and sometines only- fans of the game. So the pitching process begins, they have to make their amiibos more appealing for the bussiness people over the toy division if they want to have a collection and not just a single figure. Even sometimes the amiibo division will push features themselves to increase the toy appeal

the TL DR is: having amiibos made for your game is a battle against the other nintendo teams. So locking content behind them is the only way to be picked over the tenth Splatoon amiibo if your franchise is not as mainstream

Lets be honest the NTAG 215s on Amazon are a rip off. You can order a roll of 250 stickers from some Chinese factory for like $0.03 per sticker or you can go on amazon and pay $1 per card if you're lucky.
