While cataclysm is satisfying, I Personally find that Nightmare is most fun.
The God Tier voice acting helps, and it's nice to be able to carry teams by yourself without risking one retard fucking everything up.

The Ogre and patrol come up once except in the dungeons/Summoner's peak, and both have a pretty good chance to not even spawn on other maps.

The revcnt vent and Regrowth buffs mean that Conflag makes you practically immortal if you keep scoring large hits, and the penalty for fucking up a maximum explosion is lower.

1H axe with backstab in particular will mow through stormvermin like no other.

Beam is useful in maps where mobility is paramount/killing off the odd special, and bolt is useful when nobody else has an anti special weapon, but Conflag is unparalleled for area denial and damage output, and the normal attack has a decent enough knockback for single skaven.
The main strength is that if a Skeven gets caught in a fully charged blast, it dies, burns a few seconds later, or is damaged enough to get one shotted by the weakest weapon. No matter the difficulty. It also scatters large hordes.
it has an issue with needing more venting, since a fully charged blast will always take it over the first overheat line, but the channeling rune and regrowth take care of that. I personally also like taking knockback.

The only weakness Conflag has that can't be traited out is the rat ogre.

Yes. They have a big headshot hit area when you're firing into hordes, and the charged attack is great for clearing out large amounts of skaven. An excellent pair for any weapon that has issues with packs.

Surprisingly yes. The best reds in the game in my experience is still the Elf Sword&Dagger. The reds also now have two sets of traits that you can swap between in the shrine for 0 gems, it looks like you're rolling for random mods but that's just a "set A" and "set B" that you can switch between for the red weapons.

Yeah, that deal a measly 6 damage per swing, meaning you need two headshots to take down a clan rat. Only way to effectively use this weapon is with Killing Blow normal. (Cataclysm of course who the fuck even cares about anything but Cata?)

Everything is viable outside fucking Cata easily, Cata only starts to show certain weapons outperforming others but even then you can clear Cata if you have a group that stays together and knows how to melee.

I can pug Cata myself.

Shield on Dwarf/Soldier is really the main choice to decide on in Cata because it allows them to crowd control nearly the entire field, especially with the right traits.

All are practically the same. The only one who is slightly different is the Wizard but thats about it.
The only thing that matters is your weapon loadout. This is why people autistically screeching for new characters makes no sense, a dwarf slayer wouldnt play differently from the other characters, and they only have a couple of radically different weapons to come up with.
The only thing new characters would do is the Payday 2 trash of ruining the diversity of voicelines and banter. At the moment the characters constantly talk to each other and there are rare voicelines that you hear for the first time even after 200 hours.

The only tangible difference to Nightmare is that Cata punishes bad things more. Learn to dodge dance so you dont get hit and thats the most important part. If you also learn to sidedodge packmasters and gutter runners, you wont even need to stick together to beat Cata maps.
So in other words, dodging dodging dodging. It is absolutely the most important mechanic to master.
