most people shit all over the multiplayer, 'cause they were butthurt for whatever reason. i thought it was pretty fun. played it at release when you could find a match quickly in each game mode. not long after, it turned into tdm like most other fps games with that mode. i assume it has only gotten worse unless they've changed things. sucks, 'cause the other modes are more fun.

I was in the alpha and they nerfed the super shotgoon a lot since so i have to use other weapons. Lightning gun is pretty sweet tho

These I've played since launch, multiplayer as well I have a couple hundred hours just in multiplayer I love this shiet, Reminds me of my days playing Halo 3, I've racked up a considerable amount of friends I play regularly with.

Yeah I got no excuse for that and im definitely not going to defend it because its my space being taken up as well but the game is totally worth it i feel. I havent had this much fun in an FPS in a long time. The singleplayer alone is worth it

Burger here it took me a whole day to download it, I'm talking over 24 hours of nothing but downloading. I just went, & played monster Hunter for a bit, & some chores.

The demo for this game was utter trash. I don't buy games named after classic franchises either, unless they're true to form. You can't be encouraging this shit that's nothing like the originals.

D44M was a terrible game; it had a boring artstyle, no mods, a pointless bloat upgrade system, ugly giant viewmodels, a laughable plot (not funny laughable, bad laughable), slow movement, bad repetitive music, AWFUL level design, no mods, QTE shit (which you're forced to use if you want HP/ammo since the hp/ammo placement is so shit), and TERRIBLE walking pace shittily balanced boring ass multiplayer outsourced to the people who did fucking Call of Duty.

And did I mention NO MODS???? On a successor to the game which put PC modding on the map? No fucking mods???

This game has NO FUCKING REPLAY VALUE. You are paying to play a worse version of the original Doom and play it once and once only.

Don't waste your money like I did. Don't buy this uninspired, no-replay-value, cash grab, stain on the face of the Doom series.

The recent patch where they added all the DLC content was a huge improvement. When I played the multiplayer back when it first came out, it sucked. There were only a few maps and a couple game modes. It's way better now.
I have been having a lot of fun playing it lately. Super fast paced.
I still don't like the fact that you have to select a loadout though. I'd like a "classic" game mode where you have weapon pickups and no demon runes/special weapon spawns.

I enjoy the pacing in it, it's fast but not to fast. You've not played the original DOOM in some time I can tell. It's not that much faster.

I feel like the only person in the universe who liked MP over SP, SP just felt like continuously going through lockdown sequences while MP gave me that sense of dropping into a map and immediately running for weapons/power ups. If it had no loadouts and just placed all weapons around the map it would be perfect for me.

Though I always found it weird that people expected DOOM's multiplayer to feel like Quake. Or wanted to play the multiplayer at all, it has never been a selling point for that series.

I've played it through different states. Alpha, beta, realease and 6.66. I don't really like the way they went.
While I agree that shotgun + super shotgun was some wild and dumb shit, I really don't like how they handled to nerf the combo. Like, switching weapons is now super, super slow, to the point you have to hope that if you switch to SS, you'll kill. Otherwise you're fucked.
Not to mention that the weapon balance is still completely fucked, and you can't even count on combos to make subpar weapons work.
Grenade launcher just totally outclasses rocket launcher. Like, it does 5 damage less on direct hit, but has a much better rate of fire, has better angle and can be spammed on choke points. There's also no point to pick SS over Combat Shotgun, since you'll probably ditch more damage in two consecutive hits with the CS than a single hit with the SS. Not to mention the CS has a much better range and much better RoF too.

The netcode seems to have gotten a hit too. Like, I feel always a delay between a hit that kills, and the kill confirm. Which is kind of annoying, since it's definitely noticeable.

Otherwise, some other additions were pretty good. The new demons are interesting in their own merits, the new maps are really fucking gorgeous, the new modes are fun and the rune system over system hack is much better.

Overall, the MP is nothing ground breaking, but it's also enjoyable in its own way. Got bashed maybe too harsh for bad reasons.
