But to tell you the truth trying to push techonology in portable gaming is stupid. Nobody really cares about graphics when you are playing on the go.

I bought a vita for persona 4 golden and then played FFX hd later on, both of which were essentially ports. I discovered and played a total of zero original vita games worth playing during the time I owned my vita. I traded it in a few weeks ago to fucking gamestop for $100 towards a ps4 pro and I'll never regret it.

truth. But thats the point also: people is not interested in portable games that are too complicated. This isnt recent. Since the gameboy, usually the games that are the most simple and straightfoward designs are the ones who are more popular and sell the most. Is nice to have some well designed game here and there in your pocket, but its not like the thing people are starving for.

persona sells more than SMT because it's more casual. hearthstone is doing better than magic because it's easier. league of legends eclipses dota because it's easier to get into.

If you're a piratefag the Vita is great. I have both a N3DS and a Vita and the Vita is my go-to choice for emulation because of the nicer screen and it plays PS1 and PSP games perfectly.

Kinda wish the UI was different though. I don't like the bubbles.

SCEA vehemently didn't want to support a handheld, and purposely dicked it in the states.

Something people in the industry got to see more of at the first two e3s after it launched.

There was a lot of shit being shown off for it, but nobody at SCEA but floor workers would comment on it with anything but a handwave.

Pretty much, if you liked the psp for more than one or two games, you would probably have really liked the vita, but SCEJ is the only branch of sony that gave a shit about it, and that's why you can still find stores in japan with huge vita sections but barely find them anywhere else.

Also, the memory card scheme was dumb. Vita 2000 should have just used microsd.

Nintendo did a similar thing with Switch. They discontinued the Wii U early to focus all their attention to the Switch. Now Switch is one of the top selling handhelds of 2017.

That's what my PSP was for 11 years ago.

Stealing the neighbors wifi to jack off to pictures and occasionally finding certain 10-15 second sample video files that would download straight to my 512mb memory stick and be played from there.

When I bought my Vita last November, it was a still sealed 1K on launch day firmware. They only charged me $150, which I assume to be the MSRP of a Vita.

I bought it from a local record shop instead of a video game shop. Record shops tend to have video game stuff in great condition
