It is a one hit kill, just like in RO2. But only if you hit people in the head or the heart. If you nick their shoulder they'll be fine. The only time the Mosin was a one hit kill no matter what in RO2 was in weird hyperrealism servers where all guns murdered you in one hit.

i just played a few hours, it's a lot of fun even with the glaring hit detection issues and lack of maps

the kill trading issue is most frustrating (if i riddle someone with bullets but they kill me 0.001 seconds before I kill them, none of my bullets ever existed and they're ok), other than that the hit detection seems pretty good

Yeah, and even if it wasn't as tactical as Squad I'd be okay with it if it wasn't for such a toxic community. I especially hate squad leaders who rambo it/don't put down tunnels or allow people to spawn on them, or people who think they can do a better job of commander than the person already on it, or backseat drivers who try to run shit while you're commanding.

Well, in core it's Insurgency in WW2. It has RO2-like gamemode, slightly altered old gamemodes. But also has new features such as off map support such as artillery, air raids. Also flamethrower. It's not a massive change, but I think it's worth it. I spend more time playing it than RS2 desu.

The problem isn't actually a hitreg problem It kind of is The problem is that bullet travel time is based on your ping, and it's so severe that even having 100 ping makes it so your bullet takes 2 full fucking seconds to travel 5-10 meters. Then you have the problem with pings dramatically spiking mid-game, which means everybody's bullet travel time varies between 1.5 to 2 to 3 to 1 second throughout the entire match. Then there's the problem where simply playing a 64 man match increases the server ping by 20-30, fucking over people who joined the server specifically because it said "60 ping" in the server browser and not "100 to 120, but also sometimes 90, but also maybe 130".

Then there's shit like the mosin overpenetrating targets that are less than 50 meters away, while weapons like the AK and SKS don't have this issue because ??? M16 is still a laser beam with no recoil and more damage than the MGs, and instead of nerfing it they fucking buff the AK recoil which was already perfectly fine. Bolt action rifles are irrelevant because an 18 round rifle with fast reloads, fast ADS time, better range, faster bullet travel time and a much faster rate of fire also has better damage at every range, because fuck you and your 5 bullet clip.

Because 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R are different cartridges. Although most of those bamboo huts wouldn't stop no 4 buckshot anyway so the penetration values are meh.
