You have to understand that DS3 makes no sense.
Not even Miyazaki knows who the hell the baby was. He just kinda spewed a bunch of cryptic nonsense and made a story out of it.
The Deep? The Rot? The Profaned Flame? The fourth time we've seen "the last of the Ancient Dragons"? Time warping? Landmass contortion? Characters who died randomly returning?
DS3's a good game, but holy shit, the story was an absolute mess compared to Dark Souls and Bloodborne; both of which were airtight and wrapped up stories

I had to laugh when I saw the Iron Dragonslayer in the Ringed City and read its armor description.
