The issue is that he content he has replaced with his Angry reviews is fucking terrible. It's nothing but reaction videos and videos of him complaining about fucking Nintendo or something. The reviews themselves are also a lot worse when compared to his earlier ones. He uses way too much footage of the game and doesn't actually talk about the game. The footage is just from his stream as well and most of it is him and Other Joe experiencing a bug or something and laughing for like 5 minutes.

These guys need to look back at all those super popular Youtubers of years passed who suddenly up and left at the height of their Youtube presence. You know why? I'll play devil's advocate. The economy is changing and being a Youtube is probably something that can't be automated. In other words YouTube is a part of the future (or current economy).

With that said you are completely right that YouTube can be very temporary. A lot of people rise to popularity very quickly and then fail to transition into more professional channels to continue growing. A good example of a channel that is making that transition well would be LinusTechTips.

It depends really. Someone with 3-5 million + subs can rake in quite a bit of money.

As long as you don't pull a DSP (blowing all your money for a McMansion and other stupid shit) you could absolutely live comfortably.

The key is to diversify and stay relevant. Some youtubers have basically been able to semi-retire due to the revenue they have brought in. (and living frugally in a small place)

If they need money, they need to do a standard job and do YouTube as a hobby/part-time until they're confident enough to take it as a full-time job.

If they need experience with life skills, management, content creation, etc. they should look for a job that gives that experience before jumping onto YouTube.

Going straight to YouTube without the proper skills will lead to problems. You can see plenty of channels on YouTube, where the creators have the skills and can maintain consistency for years on end (obviously changing hands as they climb the ladder).
