Remove ALL the menu-surfing, upgrade trees, half-minute weapon pickup / door opening animations, Pinata enemy design and Glorykills, majority of the lock-down combat rooms, and all mission-objective and collectibles trash.
Add tons of enemies ON the map, and maps less linear, more circular and open for exploration. Make secrets actually SECRET, and only contain useful supplies (weapons, ammo, powerups).
And finally: give players real modding tools from day 1.

-Make Armor work like in previous games once again: Reduce all damage by 35-50%, instead of just being a second HP bar.
-Proper ammo capacity and weapon damage from the get go. None of this 20 shotgun shells and few feet long effective range with no multi-kill possibility.
-Add in hitscan Zombie enemies. Seriously.
-More enemies on the screen, and more enemies pre-set on the maps.
-Less locking player in a tiny fighting arena to fight a wave after a wave of spawning enemies. More map-wide combat and exploration.
-More colors and twisted landscapes. NuDuum's "Hell" was boring and generic as fuck, just goddamn rocks with some blood on top.
-Make less ammo and HP lying around, and remove enemies dropping HP when they die. Make player hunt for secrets and supplies, use the map design for their advantage.
-Make the Chainsaw a melee WEAPON once again, not a goddamn 1HKO ammo-replenishing special weapon.
-Better gore system and longer lasting corpses. KF2 BTFO of D4's gore.
