Looking at a few minutes of a few characters' gameplay, they don't seem to be that much more excessive than BB or P4A in terms of reach. It may just be because Uniel is the one of the lot I haven't played, but normals and specials look noticeably faster compared to most in the BB cast.
They probably won't need to tweak much, each game's characters should have no problem staying faithful to their origin.

Something that always irked me about RWBY is how inconsistent a lot of the character designs are. You have the main cast that actually make up RWBY who look consistent with each other yet have their own distinct visual style, then you have people like Monkey man and his Blue haired white buddy who look fucking outlandish. I feel like it's a problem with a lot of the male characters besides maybe Juane.
Roman falls into this category too but he's a fun enough character and his stupid outfit matches his personality well enough that it gets a pass.
