I agree that CoH2's campaign felt a bit unfair compared to vCoH, where even the Germans got a Band of Brothers esque campaign. but by now CoH2 is mechanically the better game. I still consider vCoH the greater game because how damn innovative it was back in 2006, but if I had the choice to play vCoH or CoH2, I'd pick CoH2.

I played 120 hours of CoH before a friend introduced me to MoW 2. Now the idea of tanks having health bars and being this all around beast unit just baffles me. No tank should be effective without proper infantry support.

On that note, my love affair with combat flight sims ran until -and including- Il-2 1946.
Cliffs of Dover made me quit them for other things, and I've never really come back.
Been wondering if I should give it a go again, and as far as I can tell, there's Rise of Flight, Battle of Stalingrad and DCS with various DLC modules for modern high fidelity CF simming. I'm also aware of a Wings Over Flanders Fields, but it seems a real hassle to get set up.

Any of you flight combat autists here know what's good and what's not nowadays?

Fireflies were used as firepower supplement for actual tanks (Cromwells and Shermans) doings tanks job. Command wanted insurance in case their tanks start running into large quantities of Tigers and Panthers, and TDs were too fragile to be used on offensive along with tanks, so they settled with jury-rigging 17 pdr to Shermans.
