I just loved the Japanese themes and the aesthetics were beautiful
Too bad we'll never get a real sequel, it was better than most Zelda games.
I think a remake on the PS4 would work great if they used the touch pad for the paint brush

I've been playing the PS3 version lately and it's still really beautiful, great port.

Nah. Pacing is dogshit.

If it took that bland overworld for each level and shrunk it down to maybe 30% of its original design to allow you to get to the challenges and dungeons quicker (shrink those as well) and sure, the combat and puzzles would shine through.

But in its current state, the game is 80% running from A to B, in or out of dungeon. And the running isn't fun. It's boring. In a game with boring skyboxes and a dogshit draw distance, which shouldn't be even be a factor in a game's quality but it's trivial shit like that, that gnaws at you when you're spending so much time bored out of your skull.

But then I thought all the 3D Legend of Zeldas were fucking boring too, so what the fuck do I know.

The only real problem I had with the game was that the combat was too easy (I blame the Godhood system, which negated incoming damage if you kept a combo up). Other than that, it was fucking fantastic.

I agree with pacing/length issues. It was kind of an unwelcome surprise that I was only half done after beating Orochi the first time. It was a welcome surprise that there was a twist and I still had something else to do, but unwelcome that it was like another 15 hours of it. The game kind of overstayed its welcome. It all bleeds together since its mechanics didn't feel like they evolved enough to justify the runtime.

The ending was great though.
