It depends on the game. If I'm playing something like Warframe and doing it solo, I put on some metal, usually Megadeth, Pantera, or Judas Priest, occassionally putting on more obscure NWOBHM bands. Hell sometimes I throw on Oingo Boingo. Same deal if it's a racing game (unless the soundtrack is already goat, like F-Zero). Usually the music in a game is more than enough for me though, it's a huge part of why I enjoy alot of games.
If you wanna mix it up, chart songs for frets on fire. I just did a chart of Spooky Tooth's "Better By You, Better Than Me" and that was fun to do.
