Melee
>First of all, all melee weapons now uses raycaysts. That means that it's way easier to hit enemies, but you'll need to actually aim with your cursor, which only makes it more fun, not sure why i've put a "but" there.
>Second - all damage is based on player's velocity. Hitting an enemy mid-air after leaping from some building or accelerating with high speed hook can make deal up to 3x times more damage. Standing still and furiously clicking won't help you much.
>Broadswords now have a power attack, which lets you do 1.5 times damage, but you need to time your attacks well. Projectile-firing swords now only fire their projectiles when doing a power attack. No more weird timers.
>Hammers are now actually useful! They have much higher damage, but always have an attack delay.
>Tools now have separate "modes". If you click on a block and hold the mouse, they'll act as they used to, but won't damage enemies. If you click while hovering on an enemy, or just not on a suitable tile, then they'll swing once for a raycast attack. The reason behind this change is tools in vanilla being too easy to use as "stay away" weapons because of their autoswing. But now it's possible to turn them into actually enjoyable to use weapons.

From what I read so far a guy made a mod literally for himself but allowing others to download it. I see nothing wrong with that. As for the mod itself it is shit imo. Basically if I were to guess he just added the dash ability from shields as a default ability and change the dash animation into a roll. Climbing claws already existed and get replace by wings anyway. Not worth the download as far as I care.

My biggest problem with this is that it tries to give Terraria gameplay elements that would get boring quick and not match the endgame

Endgame battles where you fight hordes while flying and moving fast to not get yourself killed while dodging a gigantic flying sprite that shoots projectiles at you, this slower paced stuff just wouldn't work well with that

I kinda of wish there was an overhaul mod but that rewarded going fast and flying, like shoot em up or bullet hell elements, would be fun to fly around shooting flying enemies with crazy powerful weapons without needing to rely on the UFO all the time

It's the same shit that happens in minecraft, where you carry an inventory full of stone pickaxes so you don't waste precious materials. If it takes a gold bar just to repair a gold sword, then is it going to take a chlorophyte bar to do the same? or a luminite bar? The durability mechanic only serves to extend the game's time, but really all it does is stunt progress. I'll even go so far to say it's one of the main reasons why minecraft is so shit.

It would be more interesting to see monster/bosses drop a bunch of weapons to compensate for durability, if they wish to have the game mechanic.
