He's not wrong. This whole game is basically built around the idea that no one can aim properly. That's why half the weapons have a firing arc the size of a barn door and half the remaining weapons are melee weapons. It's a sequel that adds pretty much nothing new and even ignoring the fact that no one can aim for shit with their terrible control scheme, with that fixed all it would be is a really dumb shooter.

Some maps came back, but most maps are new. The maps that returned were revamped. Moray Towers has ink rails now for example.

The hub world is brand new.

It's a brand new campaign starring Marie in place of Cuttlefish with new levels and gimmicks, and you can use different weapons in the levels without amiibos.

Other than that, they added a new co-op horde mode (Salmon Run), a new "league battle" mode that's basically tournament mode, LAN battle support, hairstyles and pants options, all new specials and some new sub weapons, and a couple new weapons.

Picking the rainmaker up makes you a huge fucking target and also essentially leaves your team down a player because the person holding it can barely run or fight. The sensible thing to do is pop it, fight off the enemies and secure some turf so you don't get flanked to shit, then pick it up when you aren't going to be fucked in the ass doing it. Obviously if you wait too long to pick it up all the enemies will have respawned, but if you've secured the turf around you, you'll have an even easier time fighting them off with the rainmaker in tow.

What are you defining as the long way? You can go up some ramps right past their spawn and jump to the pedestal, that seems technically shorter to me, but it's also suicidal. The alley around the back is a harsh chokepoint when it's being defended, but is a straight shot that is harder to chase up if they weren't already poised at the opposite end waiting for you.

The octobrush doesn't need to aim in close quarters, and because of that, they'll catch the dualies out of any roll they try to do. You can spin that as indicative of the low skill of octobrush users, but it doesn't change facts. It's saved me a few times, but it never lets you win against an octobrush. Escape, maybe. It's only the best close range weapon if you arbitrarily decide to limit it to shooting-style weapons, rollers and brushes are designed to be good in close combat, and they are better at it than the dualies.

I think Vinny uses and likes gyro controls but mused that it'd be nice to be able to use the stick to mess around with the Y axis still, which I agree.

I use the stick to make large adjustments like turning while gyros for fine tuned aiming. anyways the game feels great once you git gud at gyro controls.

I finished the whole game with the umbrella, working on doing it all with the hero shot and the splatling. I'm not sure there's anything else I want from it. I like my chargers with scopes, don't like dualies, the hero brush is just a 100% recolor, blaster is just a 100% recolor. The splatling is just different enough that I like it, the P90 is sweet, and I wanted the umbrella because I freakin love that weapon and know it's going to be my new favorite.

You ever think that some people are good at aiming with sticks? Games like Killzone didn't have aim assist and people still played the shit out of the online multiplayer. I'm sure there are others as well. Snipers in COD haven't had aim assist for since Ghosts I believe (I know BLOPS3 didn't have it), so a lot of people have gotten decent at aiming with sticks.

It paints better than a roller and you're very mobile and able to kill if you're good enough to sneak up on someone and lay into them

I bust my ass in Rainmaker because it's my best/favorite mode but there's only so much I can do. I thought I would have coordinated teams when I hit the A ranks but it just feels like I'm the only one who wants to push. Same situation in Zones too, my team wipes and I find myself the only one consistently on the point most of the time.
Worst of all, since matchmaking is regional now, and since players are scarce, I run into the same people pretty often, and I can recognize a few really good players (Red, CountBleck, FireYoshi, Pivi, Buttmunch), and they're never ever on my team.

aerospray is supposed to be the faggot standing on the tower spraying everywhere and throwing bombs so his teammates have an advantage against long range shooters that come from above, the rest of the team is supposed to have long range weapons focused on splatting enemies while the aerospray holds the turret, you can hide behind the central pillar for long range weapons and keep the ground of your color thanks to the ridiculous rate of fire

the only way they can stop you this way is with bomb spam but that works against anything thanks to the shit design of the super
