To answer your quetion, the game is ok. It depends on you what you want and how you get it. I mostly eperiment with builds, do fashion and explore maps. Others do pvp or raids, there is fuckton to do. Game can egt kinda repetitive adn boring at times, especially the leveling but overall its a good product

It's the least bad MMO I'd say, It's ok, people hate it here because they wanted GW2 to be a CORPG like GW1. And GW1 was hated outside of the official forums and fansites because it wasn't a MMO and was considered WoW for poorfags but that's another story.

The only objectively bad thing with GW2 was how they badly used the rich GW lore and made stupid stories with stupid characters and bad writing. They got better but it's still quite mediocre. Next expansion should be better than HoT.

And no, it's not dead even if people have said it for 5 years, it's still one of the most popular MMO, a second expansion will be revealed next week and there's hype outside of here. Based on revenue it was the third biggest game in 2016, after Overwatch and CSGO, way above other MMOs.

It doesn't need to be changed, it's one of the best combat system in MMOs, one of the few that is really dynamic, you're not rooted in place when you make a big swing with your sword or when you cast a big spell. There's a lot of interactivity between players and you use all 10 skills in your hotbar instead of the first 3 or 4 like in most MMO even if you have 80 of them on the screen.

Ironically even though there is no trinity I do think it has some of the more unique classes of any MMO. Simplistically every class can DPS/Heal/Tank/CC (with some exceptions, like I wouldnt tank with a ranger) but personally I find the way they do those things is more important than the fact there is no trinity. You still feel like you're playing a ranger DPS rather than a mage DPS, and while the end product is always just damage it still feels different. I think the most unique classes comes from tree of savior, its a shame the rest of the game is so shit because its classes/skills are totally unmatched in terms of fun and uniqueness.

The best part about GW2 is the fact that its more MMO than most MMOs when it comes to leveling and social interaction. Leveling you run into zones and actually get to fight with other players which is fun and the whole reason you should be playing MMOs in the first place. Zones are great in that they take out having to join a party, you're a part of the world with other people by default like it should be. The big gripe of leveling for me is that its rarely hard, but there are enough moments of 'oh shit' to make it fun for me at least.

PvP, raids, dungeons are all shit like they are in all MMOs. Anything instanced and out of the game world is always rubbish, you might as well just play DotA/LoL for PvP thats actually fair and engaging, or a game thats dedicated to small scale instanced content for dungeons/raids that isnt limited by being an MMO if you like those things.

I like the game for the combat. FFXIV and WoW combat systems didn't hit it for me. They remove threads whenever someone report cheating or problems with a game, they don't fix bugs since release (the ones that are annoying obviously), many features/mechanics that were needed since release were introduced like 4 years later (e.g. consume all), drops are way too random, there are still not proper GvG, where the hell are guild wars in Guild Wars 2? I still play GW2. I think the visuals and the community are great, definitely the best parts of the game. I hate the story because it's not only bad by itself, but it actively ruins the old good stories from GW1, and I also hate the cash shop because they just throw all new cosmetics in there instead of making them gameplay rewards. You can buy gems with real money or in game money to get shit like extra bag slots and character slots but the only thing that makes a huge difference is more character slots. You really want at least 9 character slots at some point to play all classes. The game is cheaper to play than monthly payment MMOs but it does require a decent computer to run. The computer will be the main cost.

The reason it's hard to debacle about guild wars 2 because of how different it is mechanically and nostalgiababby of past game.

It's the only game that scratch my itch of playing an action game without absurd GCD or mindless rotation without paying attention to the environment Dodging attacks feels fun, the last lazarus fight is pretty well made and feels like a toehoe boss. This made it hard to compare with, since it is one of it's kind, and some people just hated it for the fact you need to use dodging or wanted a trinity role.

Nostalgiababby who wants to stick with GW1. Both are good, just because it's different you don't have to preach to avoid it on other people.

I honestly never grinded a single time since HoT came out and I was able to get through the expansion and content like everyone else. The game rewards you for doing pretty much anything. I pvp a lot and I get just as wealthy as hardcore pve grinders.
