>went to go back and play a good game
>remember THAT area
>>385391007
Don't be a bitch it's not that bad
>>385391007
>blight town
>when Lost Izalith and Bed of Chaos exists
>>385391007
That was their best attempt at making a boring open space more interesting, it ended up being more boring especially since it was ugly.
>>385391007
You can skip all that bullshit if you grab the master key though.
>>385391007
blighttown is fucking easy. New Londo Ruins is the hard part for me
>RE7 on Madhouse
>the fucking boat
Blight town is so easily skipped that I don't think about it much. HOWEVER
>Lord Soul areas
I usually stop around O & S
>>385391007
5-2 is worse
>Dark Souls 3
>the entire beginning
>Dragon age Origins
>Remember that it becomes a chore halfway through
Every time
>>385391007
>bloodborne
>dumb forest area with a bunch of spitting cucks
>>385395023
People always seem to forget how much Origins fucking drags. At one point during like a second or third playthrough I just started every combat encounter by killing all the enemies with the console just because there are fucking thousands of encounters and they all take more time than they're worth.
>>385391007
>Want to replay Metal Gear Rising
>remember the fight against sam
>>385395278
Oh please, the forest wasn't that bad.
Nightmare Frontier fucking sucked, though.
>>385395409
Nightmare Frontier is probably the lamest area but it's pretty short when you understand how to get through it. Not really that terrible.
>>385395409
the rest of hte game was fine, the forest part is just really uninteresting
>>385395409
Nightmare Frontier was fine. The shitty swamp sections with the instakilling rock-throwing Lost Children and extremely dangerous Winter Lanterns who can also near kill you in one delayed hit, combined with the constant frenzy and toxic hazards and it being a PvP hotspot might make it seem bad, but yeah I guess it is.
Anyway my main problem with that level is that the shortcut is fucking lazy. A floating elevator, that's the best you could do, From?
>>385395394
>fight against sam
It's fucking great. What are you talking about?
>>385391007
>Super Metroid
>Maridia
It's fucking horrible. I am playing this part right now, I always hate.
>>385395728
maybe hes talking about the train scene
>playing TLoU on survivor
>mfw Hotel Basement level
>either spend 20+ more hours grinding or try to fight a near-impossible difficulty boss
>Red Faction
>mfw undercover levels
>>385395161
God bless the wesp5 patch for letting your skip most of the sewers.
>>385396624
>survivor
try grounded you pussy
> replay Jak 2
> every second mission is "that part"
> tank escape
> metal head hunting with Sig
> racing
> QTE mini game
> mech suit
> escape the water slums
> escort the kid
> racing
> sewers
> sewer escort mission
> timed hoverboard challenge
> turret mission
> street racing
> underwater mech suit
> more racing
I swear there's a total of 6 missions in that game I actually look forward to, out of 64 total missions.
>>385393293
>>Dark Souls 3
>the entire game
fixed it for you
Not that bad but this is the first thing that came to mind
>Batman Arkham City
>Having to pull yourself across the ice
fuck that shit.
>>385397382
That game is flawed as hell but to me, it's a 10.
Dukes Archives was a lot worse for me
>all those bullshit buffed crystal hollows
>jumping and homing onto you
>arrows taking off half your health
>>385391007
Honestly, it's all the areas after Anor Londo that put me off replaying Dark Souls.
>>385391007
Fuck you, at least it isn't boring and uninspired. Lost Izalith is several times worse.
>>385399042
Lost Izalith was pretty inspired.
Underground oven-city modelled off Tibet and filled with retard reject enemies that never made it out.
It's just bad.
>>385391007
You can literally skip this place with 2 jumps and run straight to the boss
>>385391007
Getting there is much worse than the area itself.
>>385391136
>boring ugly boring
Why are you such a pointless child?
GTA IV
The third island, so fucking forgettable, missions, characters, locations, everything
>>385398228
Same. I should have made clear in my original post. It's one of my favourite games of all time, and I don't really know why.
I guess it's just more than a sum of it's parts.
>>385391007
Since no one mentioned it
RE4, the stupid room with the horde of faggots right after the first garrador, though it isn't so bad if you get a good set up.
For me / other people its really the only 'annoying' part in the whole game.
Either that or Ada's boss fight with Saddler if you have bad Qte reactions
>>385399360
As opposed to all the children who have a point?
>>385399223
Yeah the architecture was cool, but the level was bland and a slog to get through.
>Having a blast replaying RE4
>Kill Salazar
>The cowboy doody zombies zone starts
>"ok, enough for a year at least"
>>385400017
Literally Xen of RE4
>>385400116
Funny enough, the same shit happened when I replayed HL not so long ago. But I end up finishing the game by sheer force anywayand saving constantly
>>385398850
>The best party member is located at the worst area of the game.
>>385399360
crime oar
>>385391102
Lost Izalith was so boring it actually made me stop playing Dark Souls for years before I came back to it and finally forced myself through that area
pretty much everything after you get off the ship.
Everything before is perfect though.
>>385397149
Thank god you can go through the second one normally if you don't pick up the doctor's coat.
miller has died
>>385391007
I don't have a pic but at the end of every Mega man Zero game is a platforming hell level where damn near every available flat surface is covered in spikes
only casuls hate Blighttown, it's actually one of the best areas in the game.
>>385395364
>Git Gud
No seriously. Get good, fag.
The game (un modded) has maybe ~300 encounters total. Assuming the standard 40-50 100% run through, that's an encounter every 10 minutes on average.
Considering that most of them (aside from Boss fights) are tank and spank fights that take 15-30 seconds, you generally spend maybe 20% of the game in combat. That's about right if you ask me.
Just >git gud.
>>385391007
this + the entire last third of the game is why Demon's Souls will always be the superior game
>>385405845
While I agree the combat isn't much of an issue, I do think the game drags on a bit.
Like there isn't really a point in the game where I go "oh man, I'm so looking forward to that area". It's just very bland and uninteresting, and due to that all I really remember is the less fun parts of those areas which makes me look forward to them even less. For whatever reason I still absolute love the game though and I just started a new playthrough yesterday.
>>385405912
Everything after the O+S is such a chore.
I just hate those moments when the game goes: *whoosh* the not so invisible walls that have no in game meaning are gone. Go do stuff and collect shit and bla bla bla.
Non-linearity is usually great, think DA:O after Ostagar, but when I literally have no fucking purpose, and all exposition is done in the form of retarded Japanese>English>Japanese>Old English kindda dialogue and item descriptions, I can't help but go: "Fuck it, I've seen the twins and they're great. Time to play some Civ".
>>385391290
Have you even played?
>>385404597
this
>bloodborne (wanna try a different build)
>the first four layers of chalice dungeons
>that fucking undead giant in central layer 3
>that fucking flaming doggo in cursed layer 4
>>385391290
You can skip Depths but only half of Blighttown
>>385406954
Why would you need to do chalice dungeons? Its not like you are going to do any pvp or something
>>385391007
>>385407283
But anon, there's good shit in layer 5
>>385407430
You dont need any of that for normal playthrough.
>>385391007
>Devil May Cry 4
Every single mission. At least there's bloody palace.
>be me
>2017
>playing Big Bane: Crashing This Plane Simulator
>get to part where you have to "crash this plane, with no survivors"
>mfw
>>385400789
what do you mean, there is noone you can recruit in the fade that wasn't with you before you entered
>>385391007
when you have dsfix/60fps, does this area still chug like a bitch? dont understand why everyone would whinge about it if you're playing on a good pc.
>>385399746
meh. for that room, even on professional, just run to the left and down to the downstairs back room with the switches and wait for them to come to you. then go clean out the rest of them. it's not really that hard.
Blight Town is only THAT area the first you play
The second time, you just breeze through it because you know how to deal with it
Just how the Depths were THAT area for me because of the Basilisks
>>385408126
Only reason to go to Depths is the ember anyways
>Dark Torvus Bog
>>385391007
Blightown is the best part of DS1
>>385399746
for me it's the giant bug cave & the lift up to the Salazar fight, especially on professional.
>when you get infinite comboed by bugs
>>385399416
It's backstabbing mobster 1 making you kill backstabbing monster 2 but then you betray backstabbing mobster 1 and help backstabbing mobster 2 and 3
>>385399746
Pretty much everything is "that part" once you enter the castle.
>>385392075
T H I S
apparently the demon's souls servers are shitting themselves at the moment too, I played through a disgusting amount of valley of defilement with delayed enemy spawns, invisible level geometry, and 15fps
>>385404597
Jesus Christ, this stupid faggot rushing ahead all the time and getting raped by amoebas. Fuck this part.
>>385408339
this desu
>>385397382
I don't know why people want ND to go back to making more games like Jak and Crash, they were never really good at making them.
Sly, Ratchet & Clank, Spyro, etc. were all better.
>>385398850
There's actually a mod to skip the fade.
>>385398850
I didn't find the Fade that bad. Am I a weirdo?
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
>>385407294
Man that game sucked ass. Loved it when I was kid with no taste.
>>385395161
I only hated it the first time I played. It's really not that bad on subsequent playthroughs, since you can prepare for it easily. One of the spookiest parts of the game too desu
>>385399042
I mean, I get why people shit on Lost Izalith. But what about Nito's path? Hell, he basically doesn't even have an area, just like five Pinwheel servants and a white slab tucked into a corner.
>>385402682
Loved that game, environment was unique and pretty horrifying, ending was trash. That said if it was remastered I'd buy it.
>>385409010
I liked it, it was fun to go into different forms to fuck up enemies
I can see why people would dislike it on subsequent playthroughs if they don't space out their replays because you can't really finish it fast even if you already know where everything is
>>385409193
Tomb of Giants was Gimmick: The Area
>>385391007
Never understand why people have such issue with blighttown
First time I played I had master key and the place was a piece of cake
>>385409193
It's one of the reasons why I don't bother playing past O&S when I replay dark souls. Do you want to run in zig-zag through pitch black, run through a zig zag across invisible platforms, or run through a field of supernova-tier lava? Pick your poison, fuccboi.
>>385409479
Don't forget Duke's Archive
I can't be the only retard with no fucking sense of direction who has to flip the bridges 5 times to figure out where to go every time
>>385409382
I agree, but I only played DS1 years after it came out (so no sub 30 FPS bullshit) and I was a shieldfag on my first playthrough so I just kept my shield up the entire time and never got toxic
It is stressful as fuck though because you go out on a platform and never know whether you just aggroed some enemy 3 platforms over who will now take 5 minutes to cross and attack you in the back
>>385409065
Why do the flood levels always suck
It's always the same hallways over and over
>>385409619
While I'm in the same boat as you, the Archives are probably the best Lord area even so. They don't end after 5-10 minutes, for one.
